Are vintage Mulberry bags dated or classic?

I used to have three but sold them (very reluctantly) about eight years ago. I miss them and always said I'd buy one again one day. I've just had a mini windfall and now could be the time. I'm looking at a Rosemary in chocolate - the pic attached is the oak version, choc is a dark brown. Thing is, are they just beyond dated now, or do they look all cool and classic and vintage? I'm hoping the latter but I'd rather know before I fork out!

Not my bag (pardon the pun). Too busy and clunky with all the straps, studs, buckles and pockets.

I have a Rosemary in chocolate! I bought it in 2013. I love it, so much so I paid for Mulberry to replace some studs and restore the piping. I haven't used it much lately as I've had a baby so am toting around a Kanken backpack but it'll be in rotation again soon.

Style wise I'm a leather jacket and chunky ankle boots wearer - so it goes along with the many other buckles I'm normally wearing.

Ohhh I like that.

I think you've made a brilliant purchase there! I use a preloved Alexa hobo and love it, but saw someone carrying a Rosemary at the airport recently and had total bag envy. I stared at it quite a lot 😬. Enjoy!

Hi. I deal in Mulberry bags for a living. If you are looking for a bag that you love then go for it. If you are looking at resale etc then the Roxanne is not a great purchase. Mulberry classics such as the Alexa and Bayswater still hold their value the best.

Apologies! I meant Rosemary!

I have a Rosemary too! Mine is oak and a bit battered as I used it loads. Enjoy your new bag 😁

I’ve got a battered vintage small Lily in oak (must be from broadly the same era as dustbag is the same) and it looks great even with some marks and a very dark patina. I use it as my everyday bag, throw it around here, there and everywhere and never have to baby it. I’m sure it’ll still be going strong in ten years time. 👍

currently stalking Alexas on NPN and labels most wanted - not pushed the buy button just yet - am convincing myself I need one!
