And please please say yes as I've just ordered them!

Never worn navy (or black!) trainers before so I'm feeling a bit Out There style-wise and would like a few lemmings around me to tell me it's OK to have jumped!

They're pricey obv so I want to be sure. Opinions much appreciated!

I like them! But... they are a bit sporty-looking rather than fashion trainery for me. I think it's the white sole. Like they would look right with leggings and sports luxe, not so much with jeans or a dress.

HepburnKNotA · 07/10/2019 13:44

Ah that’s a good point hammering... will bear that in mind when I try them on. I do want a versatile pair to wear with lots of stuff so maybe I need to go less ‘sporty’ looking.

I like them. They're similar to a New Balance shoe, that plenty of us wear as non sportswear.

HepburnKNotA · 07/10/2019 13:46

Hm maybe I should just go with the Adidas Gazelles I’ve been considering... cheaper too!!!

Thanks MrsMaisel.

I think I need to try them with a couple of different outfits. They’re arriving tomorrow!

Can someone screenshot a pic. When I click the link it says page lost. May be because I'm in Ireland I dunno.

Yaflamingalah · 07/10/2019 13:49

I like them. Adidas Gazelles kill my heels unfortunately

TokyoSushi · 07/10/2019 13:51

Oh I love them!

hammeringinmyhead · 07/10/2019 13:56

They are similar to New Balance but I mostly see people wearing the chunkier suede styles like the 996.

Here

And I think they look more like their proper runners.

I like them too.

They do look sports luxe, but I live in Asia and trainers are worn with everything here. Shorts, smart trousers, skirts, dresses, sports wear, jeans... You name it, they wear it with trainers. Honestly, who cares. There's plenty of pounding the pavements here, so if like us, you are on your feet all day, I'd say these will be a safe bet.

Geox is also a good brand. They'll be better for your feet than Gazelles.

Enjoy!

HepburnKNotA · 07/10/2019 14:01

Thx for the pics hammering, I really like the first NB one but the second yes is v obviously a ‘sports’ trainer. I think these geox ones are sort of in between, I don’t think i’ll Know what I think until I try them with a dress.

I am on my feet a lot citychick yes and so I do want something really comfortable.

Oh, question for you all, if you don’t mind. As I’m a dark coloured trainer virgin!!

Does it look ok to wear dark trainers like these (or a less sporty style obv!!) with opaques and a dress/skirt? Not a formal or office wear skirt of course, but casual?

I wouldn’t wear my white trainers with opaques in this way but is it ok looking with dark ones?

Yes, they are fine. Good quality too.
Good for you! An excellent purchase.

Ninkaninus · 07/10/2019 14:08

They would work well with almost everything, these days. Including jeans and blazer, skirts (as long as they tie in nicely), dress down and fairly smart too.

I’d wear them (actually I’m really tempted to get them)!

I’d wear them with jeans, jumper and leather jacket (mine are forest green and burnt orange and the navy would tie in beautifully).

Also with wide leg cropped trousers and zip hoodie.

Burgundy or indigo jeans with plaid shirt and my Barbour wool poncho.

Work outfits on dress down Friday

Ninkaninus · 07/10/2019 14:08

I have a couple of dresses and skirts that would work too, actually.

HepburnKNotA · 07/10/2019 14:12

Nikinanius your outfit ideas are FAB!!

I’m getting very into khakis and burnt orange tones these days and have a couple of fab new tops in these colours to wear with navy which is why I thought navy trainers might be just the thing.

Rachellover, thx, I’m
Trying to buy less and better and as my Geox trainers have all lasted two-three seasons in the past whereas my cheap Pumas only lasted a single summer (and took weeks to break in) I’m hoping good quality will pay for itself!!
