Opinions on these boots please... just can't decide!

I love love love the style of these Joe Browns boots but I'm just not sure of the 'crackle' effect! If they were black I'd be snapping them up in a heartbeat but can't decide if the weird effect makes them naff? But they're so cheap in the sale that I can't help thinking they're worth a punt...or are they really horrible?!

As it turns out, it’s incredibly difficult to get a photo that doesn’t make them look more silvery than they actually are but here you go, best I can do (and they’re still slightly too silvery).
