Pinafore dresses

I'd like a new pinafore dress, either corduroy or a heavy denim. Can't be too short as I'd like to wear it to work sometimes. Got a nice one from Joanie last year but the material's not great - it's already quite faded and looks much older than it is! Would love navy, dark green, burgundy....anyone seen or have any nice ones, and where from?

Cheers!

I think h and m have nice ones.

Nanasueathome · 06/10/2019 12:32

Toast have some lovely ones

ginyogarepeat · 06/10/2019 12:33

Thanks - will check both out! I usually find H&M skirts a little on the short side though...

I bought a black corduroy pinafore dress from Asda last week. It was £16. It’s above the knee, but not half way up my thighs. Also had two pockets. I love it.

Wearenotyourkind · 06/10/2019 12:38

I saw a nice corduroy one in new look yesterday.

IrenetheQuaint · 06/10/2019 12:40

I saw some in Oasis the other day that looked nice.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 06/10/2019 12:42

FadingStar · 06/10/2019 12:43

There's a beautiful brown cord one in Joe Brown's.

TileFloors · 06/10/2019 12:46

Lucy and Yaks do a midi pinny, a variety of colours, in cord.

MrsJoshNavidi · 06/10/2019 12:55

Sainsbury's have some nice ones.

Tig33 · 06/10/2019 12:58

Oasis have some lovely ones in the colours you mention but depending on how tall you are maybe a bit short

fedup21 · 06/10/2019 12:59

Lucy and Yak or New look.

I have a nice orange one from Nomads which also comes in a kind of bottle green colour. It's a good weight of corduroy and is below the knee on me (I'm 5'7) but doesn't look frumpy.

Oldraver · 06/10/2019 13:36

Ive just bought the Joe Brown's dark green one and it is fab.

I like it as it's fitted quite high under the arm and in the bust area. A previous punafore I had was of the cut to the waist type and I didnt like how it gaped around the boobies.

I loved the red one they had but thought the green went with both sets of my boots.

It is quite a bit more expensive than the supermarket ones but glad Ive got it. I regreted not getting the mustard one last year as it was pricey

I have a nice burgandy one from New Look

ginyogarepeat · 06/10/2019 17:02

Oooh thanks all - can't wait to get home and have a look at these! Don't mind paying a bit more as my experience with the cheaper ones is that the fabric isn't as great.

I saw some really nice ones in Tesco, but they were very fitted over the hips / thighs, so I had to go up a size and then it gaped massively on the waste. Would be good for those who aren’t a pear though!

coffeeandbiscuittime · 06/10/2019 18:59

Fat face had some and I think White stuff did as well.

Spacecudet · 06/10/2019 20:03

I bought a lovely black denim one from Superdry

Octopuscrazy · 06/10/2019 20:18

GiraffeWithSwag · 06/10/2019 20:24

I got one Friday from Laura Ashley....burgundy with bit of a cheque (?) in it....decent length. Will link if I can! Prob bit more expensive but feels fab quality.

MikeUniformMike · 06/10/2019 20:31

The Lucy and Yak ones only have a chest pocket.

GiraffeWithSwag · 06/10/2019 20:33

Ant put link but here’s couple of photos with label details...nice soft baby cord, two slant side pockets....

The Nomads one is lovely, also look at Thought and Lucy and Yak. All ethical sustainable places to shop.
