To ask for your recommendations on waterproof trainers

I have absolutely no idea what’s cool. But I need some plainish black trainers that I can wear during the winter with jeans. They need to be ok in the rain as I live in Scotland

I’m a wee fat person (size 16-18) so it would be great if they were fairly wide fitting.

Does anyone have any recommendations

I think you’d maybe need leather ones for proper waterproofing.

I wear Nike Internationalist in black and I LOVE them - so comfortable and go with most outfits. Tbh they never seem to get my feet wet, even in quite heavy rain, but you couldn’t actually go stomping in puddles in them, IYSWIM.

Salomon do gore-tex lined trainers, sometimes in black. Pricey at full price, but often reduced for previous years' versions.

Have a look at outdoor places for fully waterproof. Though they will look more outdoorsy than cool trainers

I have trainers that I wear if it's raining when I run. They have better grip, a goretex. lining and light reflective bits for poor light. You could try something like that maybe

Merells for me are great and waterproof. They are expensive but last for years
