Thoughts on these winter wedding/party dresses?

I'm sister of the bride, 32, 5'9, size 8, very pale, grungy skinny jeans/clumpy boots/leather jacket everyday style.

The wedding is city centre, no bridesmaids or church, kind of a "cool" wedding, ceremony and then posh pub for dinner, drinks and dancing, happening in December.

Here are the dress ideas I've had so far, any thoughts? Hate them? Like them? The last one is a bit weird, granted, it's a vintage dress. Its brown velvet. Not sure I it's a bit off key for the event? If anyone has seen a dressy dress they like recently please share!

Love the middle one

They're very different to one another OP. What colours do you normally wear? The only one I like is the middle one- first is a bit old for you I think, has cruise ship vibes, and the third one I think isn't great, or suitable for a wedding- plus you'd freeze or have to stick a coat over it anyway.

Sorry, but I don't like any of them. Agree that the first is a bit 'old'. The middle one is a bit too 80s goth for my liking and the third is too much flesh on show imho.

Maybe have a look at All Saints? What's your budget?

I really like number one. Agree that you could be just too chilly in no 3, though it's fun! Number two really doesn't say wedding to me, even a Christmas wedding.

Thanks for your thoughts I was actually thinking similar. I do really like the middle one but it's a bit boring. Think I'm just panicking and scatter gunning around!

I like velvet, grungy stuff, asymmetrical stuff, long interesting sleeves. Heres another dress I like the look of but meh. I think the whole "formal" thing is panicking me a bit although it shouldn't!

The green one is by far the best. Dress it with some heeled ankle boots (even wedge boots if you hate high heels).

I like the longer green one, but unless you're very flat chested, I think it's too revealing and might look as if you're trying to upstage your sister. I think the shorter one looks a bit (whispers) cheap, sorry.
