I've never worn clumpy shoes before - am more of a boot or sandal person. But I need something comfy for work - what do you think of these? What can I wear them with? Will they go with opaques and a dress? What sort of trousers - I guess cropped? Help!

Oh nice! I love a brogue - where are they from?

baublegirl454 · 05/10/2019 13:34

They are from Clark's - I loved the metallic grey. They're really light and comfy

Wow, I really like those! I think you’re right, crops would look good, but I can see them with full length trousers or opaque and dresses...

What’s the style name - I can’t find them on the website and I neeeed 😀

baublegirl454 · 05/10/2019 16:47

@AMillionMugsNoTeabags they are called Sharon Noel 😳🤣

Thanks!! Alas they don’t do them in a 9.., curses 😡

CountFosco · 05/10/2019 16:50

I have a few pairs of lace ups for work and I love them with opaques and miniskirts or dresses or cropped trousers.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/10/2019 16:58

I've got these. So far I've worn them with cropped trousers and with short skirts and opaques.

Rollerbird · 05/10/2019 17:11

Would you wear black opaques with them or grey for the metallic?

baublegirl454 · 05/10/2019 17:25

Hmmm @Rollerbird I'm not sure - maybe grey? Might depend on the skirt

Have worn mine with black tights. Also with fishnet socks.

AnyFucker · 05/10/2019 17:42

20% off right now on the website....

RueCambon · 05/10/2019 17:46

I like them too. I was looking for brogues recently and I bought size 38 from Next but they were too small. I then ordered size 39 and they were too big. Luckily I was able to bring the larger size back. Sizing on the Next ones was WRONG. I am size 38!

Let me see if there's a mumsnet stampede on the Clarks ones, or can I get them with 20% off.

RueCambon · 05/10/2019 17:49

I'm not seeing any 20% offer come up Sad

cheaper brogues that might suit somebody who knows that they're a small 38

Get out the violins! I feel sorry for myself here!

RueCambon · 05/10/2019 17:57

Found clarks code, Adults20

AwkwardSquad · 05/10/2019 18:07

Ooh. Going to go and try those on. Sadly Clark’s aren’t usually a good fit for me, but it’s worth a try!

BillyAndTheSillies · 05/10/2019 18:21

I have these in oxblood from last winter and they go with lots. Usually wore them for work and stuck to heeled Chelsea boots for casual so they were with tapered high waisted black trousers.

Sometimes wore them with rolled boyfriend jeans with a t shirt and leather jacket. They were so comfy, can't wait to get them back out this year!

BestIsWest · 05/10/2019 20:28

I want something similar in burgundy if anyone’s seen anything.

thetardis · 05/10/2019 20:32

i think it's generational that i can't think brogues without thinking mr men

Just bought these brogues...
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/10/2019 20:35

I've bought my first ever brogues this year, two pairs. DP calls me Mr Noisy every time I wear them.

Kanga83 · 05/10/2019 20:41

I have those and in the pewter. Best Clark's shoes I've found in years and so comfy!

baublegirl454 · 05/10/2019 21:08

Oh I'm so glad people like them! @thetardis that's what I think of too 🤣🤣🤣 I need to pluck up the courage to wear them now. Think mini skirts or dresses better than midis

RueCambon · 06/10/2019 19:49

I copied you OP. Shamelessly! Same colour too.

EskewedBeef · 06/10/2019 19:54

They look versatile and comfy - i might have to have a look at them.

They're not brogues though are they? I can't see the detail very well on my phone.
