Bit of a boring one - NICE SOAP

Have recently switched to using soap instead of shower gel, but finding the range of bog standard soap scents a bit uninspiring compared to shower gel.

Can anyone recommend a nice tange of scented soap? I can only think of body shop fruit ones from my youth, but haven't been in body shop for ages so not even sure if they still do them.

The Au Lait soap from Scottish Fine Soaps
Roger et Gallet soaps
L'occitane almond soap

I love Nesti Dante soap, beautifully creamy.

Nesti Dante here too. We cut them in half, (go very slowly) but they do crumble in the cutting. If you are careful, water rebonds them. The Cypress version holds the scent reasonably well without being too strong. It's the only soap I buy now, but I love the Noble Isle hand wash pumps for the scents too. Whisky and Water is much-loved by my male relatives as a birthday present.

I looked at all the soaps in last week and without exception the main ingredient in them all was palm oil.

Olive oil soaps are my favourite. We normally bring a load back from our French holidays.

Try Artisan French Soap they sell Savon de Marseille. Beautiful fragrances, lasts for ages. Cruelty free and paraben free wouldn't use anything else now I've tried them.

I do love the Nesti Dante soaps, and find that they hold their scent right to the end sliver, when so many are just nothingness at that stage.

When I first went to soap from shower gel I made a concerted effort to use up all the mini soaps from gift sets I'd been given over the years. Much as I love l'occitane almond scent, the soap is a bit rubbish, but my god, Molton Brown milk bar is amazing. I will certainly buy a full size bar of that at some point.

Eleanor Rose Soaps are SLS free, paraben free and have no palm oil and are also vegan friendly. They are wrapped in biodegradable wax wrap and sent in recyclable boxes and the gift bags are made of muslin and reusable. I hate the thought of using palm oil in anything since I saw a Nestle advert with an orangutang in it - broke my heart. After watching the Hugh Fearnley Wittingstall programmes on plastic not being recycled, just shipped off to Malaysia and burnt, causing all those children to have terrible diseases, I’m trying to go plastic free too but it’s hard, but am slowly getting there. I found some good bio degradable wipes on Amazon too.

I like the White Company. Also got some Claus Porto soaps last Xmas- the box of confetti guest soaps is brilliant.
