What are your thoughts on velvet handbags?

I really like them, obviously there's quite a few available to buy right now as we move toward winter which is the traditional velvet season.

But I really want to buy them to use all year round.

Not in navy/black as those are more 'dressy' colours but in other colours....

Velvet is a really hard fabric to deal with. I have a few vintage handbags and they're really hard to clean, everything shows on them. I wouldn't get a velvet bag for day to day use. If you do, check the quality of velvet (there are a lot of types of velvet and obviously most of them aren't good quality)

Wouldn't suede be better?
