Thick warm jumpers!

Where can I get some from?
Actual thick, warm jumpers. I like fitted ones, cable knit, crew neck but wouldn’t mind roll neck either. Are Barbour jumpers any good? What about Aran jumpers?
Thank you Smile

I think superdry is underrated for knitwear, lovely thick jumpers that wash well & they're not all jazzy with logos etc like their hoodies

LadyLanka · 03/10/2019 16:26

Today I am wearing my new Massimo Dutti wool & cashmere cable knit roll neck jumper. Very warm & cosy.

Musicforsnorks · 03/10/2019 17:25

Regular high street awful, in my opinion for the price.
Had good stuff from Barbour, their knits are great. Crew also, but not as chunky. Country type stores seem to offer best options for warmth and quality.
Fat face not bad but depends upon your style preferences.

I’d avoid joules, really thin knits and I think overpriced. Like their coats though.

Ooh following!

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 03/10/2019 18:07

I agree with Superdry too. I have this one & it’s very warm & comfy.

Me+Em do fantastic knitwear if you have the budget. I also love Toast for jumpers.

AuldAlliance · 03/10/2019 18:49

Celtic and Co. are good, too, but pricy. All wool, though...

maslinpan · 03/10/2019 18:51

Seasalt do good jumpers, lovely colours as well.

ZenNudist · 03/10/2019 18:54

M&s cashmere nice and warm. Good value for quality

Bouldghirl · 03/10/2019 23:47

My mum! Knitted me a gorgeous Aran sweater for my birthday. I wish I had her patience to make every stitch perfect.

BubblesBuddy · 03/10/2019 23:53

&other stories, Cos and Arket all do decent knitwear. M&S cashmere is good this season. Just bought one of their hoodies! Very cosy!

I've been a chunky jumper fan for years, usually layered over some heat-tec top, thanks to being a Reynaud's sufferer and basically cold all the sodding time. However, 2 winters ago, I tried a combination of a basic silk camisole layered beneath a cashmere jumper and it was a total game changer. All the warmth with none of the bulk. Although I love a chunky jumper style, it can feel quite cumbersome when you are trying to work or even just get your coat on! I buy both the camis and cashmere from Boden and have been really impressed with the quality.

Real wool is warmer than acrylic (aka plastic) so check the content. Cashmere as a PP said is incredibly warm and so soft.

Another vote for M&S cashmere - also uniqlo cashmere.

J Crew have some really nice jumpers this year. I will be purchasing a couple.

Barbour not good quality for the price in my opinion.

Superdry usually blend manmade fibers so not as warm.

Cos have some nice colours this year.

ethelfleda · 04/10/2019 07:28

Thanks for the suggestions all!
Bould can your Mam knit me one, please? Wink

eBay is great for this.

AnnaNimmity · 04/10/2019 15:13

agree with Cos, Arket and Other Stories - good quality knitwear and cashmere too.

Srictlybakeoff · 04/10/2019 16:18

Marks have 20% off their knitwear atm if you have a sparks card

Srictlybakeoff · 04/10/2019 16:23

I love this one www.marksandspencer.com/pure-cashmere-ribbed-round-neck-jumper/p/p60271641?color=CAMEL in the mulberry colour .

Whitney168 · 04/10/2019 16:23

I've just bought this in the navy, told myself I wouldn't keep it at that price unless it was fabulous - it is a thing of beauty, and it stayed!

A proper wool Aran jumper or cardi is the warmest thing ever. They can be a bit bulky though.

NotMeNoNo · 04/10/2019 22:45

Woolovers, the warmest are what they call "100% pure wool" then it's the "lambswool"

ZaraW · 05/10/2019 06:56

&Daughter or Izzy Lane. Expensive but quality is amazing.

Almahart · 05/10/2019 07:02

Uniqlo lambswool. Wearing one right now
