What shoes with this Zara dress?

I bought this Zara dress
I am really pleased with it. The belt gives it a bit of shape so it looks really flattering on.
What shoes should I wear with it? I am rubbish at matching shoes with dresses. It doesn't help that I have large, very wide feet and stumpy ankles so anything strappy and delicate like the model is wearing is out!

Basics - sounds like my 14yo.

I really like it too! I'd wear white trainers during the day or ankle boots during the evening. Agree chunky boots would also look good.

I'd wear heels with it to work.

ChinUpChestOut · 04/10/2019 17:32

Nice dress! I have similar from Mango and I dug out a pair of suede knee high boots, with block heels that I had from first time around and found myself looking unexpectedly on-trend. Might be an option for when it gets colder and you want to cover up a bit more.

Dm's for casual
White ankle boots with a heel for evening with a pointed toe.

I 'd wear black loafers with it.

CallMeOnMyCell · 05/10/2019 07:21

@Wehttam why are you so angry about someone’s choice of dress? Women have enough shit to deal with without sarcastic remarks about clothes. Pumpkin spiced lattes? Really? As I said above, grow up.

MariusJosipovic · 05/10/2019 07:27

Wehttam you ok Hun? Confused You seem extra mean on this thread, and it's all a bit unnecessary.

Pinkyyy · 05/10/2019 07:27

@Wehttam Wow what a nasty attitude. You should be ashamed of yourself for looking down on women over a fucking dress. And so what if they are still wearing it? Fashion should not be disposable, but clearly someone as fashionable as you wouldn't be seen dead in something 3 months old. I'd rather wear that dress than think I was high and mighty enough to call other women 'basic' any day.

Biancadelrioisback · 05/10/2019 07:41

I'm assuming @Wehttam only wears unique items of clothing, hand made by her to help her avoid buying anything that anyone else might also wear. FWIW, I didn't actually see anyone wearing that white dress in real life, and I work in a busy city centre.

OP your dress is lovely. I can't quite see the bottom thanks to the pop ups on the website but how long is it on you? It looks like it would cut me off mid shin but then again I am short.

RainWoman19 · 05/10/2019 08:37

Wehttam you sound as backward as your name. But then again you sound so unique!

AnyFucker · 05/10/2019 08:42

Hi cod

You can't help yourself can you ?

Pinkyyy · 05/10/2019 08:49

@AnyFucker who's cod?

ooooohbetty · 05/10/2019 09:03

I seem to be in the minority here in thinking ankle boots would look terrible and clumpy with this dress. I'd wear heels.

Ginfordinner · 05/10/2019 09:08

As I am old Grin I had to look up "basics" in the urban dictionary. It isn't a term I am familiar with in that context. Not sure why an immature teenager would be interested in being mumsnet TBH.

For the record I really like that dress, but I'm not keen on the way the hem dips down at the back.

Bloomburger · 05/10/2019 14:56

Basics and tragedies. Hmm

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 05/10/2019 17:10

So, I have just had a fun few minutes trying it on with every pair of shoes I own, including a pair of mustard yellow DMs inherited from DP.Grin
Unfortunately black ankle boots are not working. The dress hits me at mid-calf at the front (am 5'7" with short stumpy legs) so with the ankle boots there's just the wrong amount of leg on show.
The winner so far is a pair of black, heeled courts with a bit of a platform sole. I am going to get some white Conserve style trainers to try with it too, as a comfier option. And a pumpkin spice latte too, obvs, to totally be rocking it Grin

You, you basic Grin

ReggaetonLente · 05/10/2019 18:27

Wettham

Alright Miranda Priestley

Pinkyyy · 05/10/2019 18:30

@AnyFucker I'm confused, who do you mean?

I hope I'm not basic 😭

peachypetite · 05/10/2019 18:35

I’d wear it with pointy courts.
Wehttam so you don’t own a single piece of clothing that others also have?

Ginfordinner · 05/10/2019 18:54

No-one would want to own anything I wear Grin
Currently wearing some Matalan jeans and a jumper from Sainsburys Grin
