What kind of tights with this dress for posh evening do?

I’ve bought this dress for a posh evening do in a few weeks.

I have silver slingback cone heels that I will wear with it.

But what tights?

I can’t go bare legged, my legs are horribly pale and scrawny and I just prefer some coverage.

Something patterned/lacy? In navy, I guess...? Or black...?

Or fishnet? If so nude or black?

Or just plain sheer black tights?

hm, thanks paradyning... much appreciated! I've just googled the this works leg makeup and it sounds as if it's a fab consistency but could be quite orange on very very pale skin (which is mine!) so I might avoid that but maybe just stick to my trusty fake tan instead.

Just a light layer of fake tan and maybe I can go bare-legged, after all I do in the summer, it just feels a bit wrong in autumn for some reason.

It's the whiteness and skinniness of my legs that I hate, really, they're not mottled or blotchy or anything so maybe I'm being old-fashioned about needing tights. Nothing tights can do to help them look less skinny, after all!!

Alternative plan is to try my slightly boring but safe suede kitten heel pumps with the dress and if they look OK I can revert to tights plan.

Wish I'd chosen something maxi length now!! But the dress I've chosen is very pretty.

Personally I've never had an issue with any form of slippage between any type of tights and slingbacks I guess it would only be an issue with looser fitting shoes, how's about considering double layering, wear a really silky glossy tan pair of tights topped with nude fishnets for a bit of a special look, believe me it works a treat I've had so many compliments doing that combo time and time again whether it be with nude or black fishnets either micro net, standard net or even whale net tights over tan tights, whatever you end up with have a great evening

I dance every week and never wear tights, I use Dove tinted moisturiser and have a monthly pedicure with gel toenails. Loathe black tights and sparkly shoes, just looks ridiculous!

Just get a good all over tan - dress is lovely BTW 👍🏻

Personally no tights but try a fake tan on your legs. Tights are scrunchy and uncomfortable. I use fake tan all year round. I swim/gym daily. I don’t have attractive legs but the tan gives me confidence to go bare 😀

I'd wear nude tights but second what a PP said - use some gel 'party feet' inserts. They make all the difference for slippage AND help you wear heels comfortably if you're not used to them...... They cost about a quid I think......
