Blow dry bars - how do they work?

As above Smile

Travelling to central London for a night out on Saturday and considering getting a blow dry when I arrive as I am truly rubbish with hair.

Seems easy enough to book online, but some places seem to have set styles - do I see pictures and choose when I get there? Do you go with dirty hair and they clean and dry it? Do they put product in at the end so your hair stays looking great or do I need to take my own? Can you get hair up or a braid instead?

Basically, please explain blow dry bars as if I were 5, from another planet and have never seen hair before! Blush

I quite often go to the one in Covent Garden, which is very good. You pick a style off the menu, go with dirty hair and they'll do the rest- its great! They have quite a few styles to choose from, so I can always find something that I like, but they'll adapt it to your specific hair regardless. The straight sleek styles or the glam bouncy blow dries are my default and they always do a great job. They also do an upgrade where you can have a hair conditioning treatment applied too- which I often go for as my hair is quite damaged and I never have the time to do that at home. They'll do your make up, false lashes and nails too if you want! Enjoy your pamper :)

Oh yes, I forgot to add, in answer to your other questions; yes they do provide all the products (fancy Kerastase ones no less!), and you can also get a braid or an undo done if you prefer. You just rock up and they do the rest!

I've been to the Hersheshons blow dry bars. They wash your hair, will use product, and you choose your style from a menu. They also have braid bars but I've never used them.

It’s like a hairdressers with a backwash to wash your hair but no scissors! I love a good professional blow dry. I had one on `Friday and it still looked great on Tuesday.

Thank you all! I feel much more prepared now.
Gone for blow dry and make up too because why not?! Grin
