My annual help me choose a dress please?

Birthday party of relative coming up. Trendy wine bar. Most people will be between ages of 40 &50.

What do I wear? Have done a Hush order. And I have an old faithful Tara dress pic attached here (plum coloured, plus I also have one in black). Not sure if the shape is too "last year'' several years ago though?

Any thoughts/opinions on the following please?

Two pics of a grey, sparkly glittery dress (hand in pocket, v-neck) Very much a party dress. Totally hides my shape - but think that is "on trend" atm

Then collage of
Blue/black, wide, floaty geo pattern dress. Feel surprisingly good in it. Hides shape. Could go down a size (this is the 10)
Grey animal print - quite like it (thought I'd hate it with the curls but it looks OK). Could/probably should go down a size - this is a S.

I like it. I think it's timeless. Very classy.

A blue shirt dress that makes me feel like I am wearing a dressing gown.

I like the blue/black one, the grey animal one and the shroud! The shroud actually might do very well at a wine bar type evening. And I love your hair!

I like the animal print dress... also like your curls!

I like the Tara. Also the blue/black which is possibly more "partyish". Are you wide of shoulder and narrow of hip? (Like me!)

Yep @DeborahAnnabelToo Wide of shoulder, narrow of hip. Don't think I have ever fretted about my bum looking big in anything - though I do have to be careful that the wide shoulders do not make me look about 10 sizes bigger than I am.

I love the material of the glittery dress but I think it is just tooooo boxy.

I hear ya! Still I've been thinking about getting a Tara for a while and seeing you in it makes me realise we inverted triangle types can wear it well.

GRey sparkly is very classy.

I like the blue/black and grey/black. But in the end, whatever you feel best in is the right choice.

I love the navy shroud!

So, I have ordered the XS in the blue/black and animal print. Cannot get any smaller in the glittery one and as I think it is just too wide I shall definitely be sending that one back. With my chunky calves and wide shoulders the really wide-screen stuff can make me look a bit odd.

I love the shroud and think it looks great on.
