Root touch up just parting/bits that show ?

Hi does anyone do root touch ups on just bits that show in between salon visits? And if so how does hairdresser feel about it and does it mess it up for going to get roots done at salon next time , as presumably then hair is two different colours? I find it such an effort/expense going to salon every couple of months to get roots done, I sometimes do at home but do whole head of my roots and that's bad enough. I have long straight hair and was just wondering about saving myself some effort/money just doing parting/hairline. I did try last year to grow colour out but I hated it. I'm not that grey, about 10 percent but hate my natural colour.

I did this for years but now go every 6 weeks. Looks a lot better and the home kits only lasted 2 or 3 weeks whereas the hairdresser stuff lasts longer

Yes, I used to use root touch-up kits in between salon colour. It blends in and fades out anyway, so the hairdresser never seemed to notice or care!

I actually asked my hairdesser and she recommended the one that i used!

Thanks Trewser and Doctor , were these supposed to be permanent root colour products you used ? I don't mean the semi permanent stuff that you brush or spray on and it washes out, I've got in a right mess with those as my hairline in one place is grey and it's hard to get cover without getting it on my face ! My hair is mid very ash brown with grey bits, I don't mind the grey, hate my natural colour !

I used nice and easy age defy in dark ash blonde. After a while my hair got quite brassy.

Thank you. That's strange though as it was an ash blonde.

I have to fashion a face-mask out of loo roll if I ever try to use the sprays! 😂
They are so sticky too. I am giving up on them tbh.
