I’m not a newbie to it and my skin doesn’t react badly to it. I’m nearly out of my ordinary granactive 5% and don’t think it’s as good as others I have tried. Any recommendations please?
I’m 35 so no deep wrinkles yet - more for prevention!
Thank you

I’ve been using the Dr Sam Bunting’s nightly serum and have found it stronger than the ordinary one. I’m contemplating my second bottle (I only won’t get it if I go for something stronger) it gives a nice glow and isn’t too drying.

Thanks whiter I haven’t heard of that one...

I’d seen Paula’s choice actually - so it’s a good one?

Ohhh that's of interest to me too OP. I also have a question, is it possible here in the UK to get "proper"
Retinol from the doctors? I used to get it years ago for acne but was another country. In my early forties now and need it for wrinkles !

whitershadeofpale · 02/10/2019 12:28

I've just signed up for Dermatica @SteamedPotatoes they give you a prescription for tretinoin, which is the purest form of retinol. I think you can get it cheaper elsewhere but I like the fact it's a legit prescription

Jjbay · 02/10/2019 12:33

Look up environ they do a full range I have been using it for over a year it can be pricey compared to the ordinary (around £60 a bottle) but really is worth it

emsyj37 · 02/10/2019 12:38

Sorry to butt in but if you sign up to Dermatica is it still one flat price per month?? Is it £20 a month regardless of what you get or does it vary? I'm looking to sign up for the lowest strength retinol but can't find up to date price info! Thanks.

SteamedPotatoes · 02/10/2019 13:04

I've heard of this before and you've just pushed me over the edge @whitershadeofpale and signed up ! It's gbp 22.89 monthly (incl shipping)

SteamedPotatoes · 02/10/2019 13:10

Ive just seen this on another thread www.hotandflashy.com/retin-update-results-51-year-old-skin-9-months/
results really are amazing !

whitershadeofpale · 02/10/2019 13:12

I think it's always the same @emsyj37 but they will tailor a prescription to you and change it as your skin needs change.

emsyj37 · 02/10/2019 13:15

Thanks both, I'm using Differin at the moment (acne as well as wrinkles, lucky old me) but will definitely sign up once this tube is finished.

whitershadeofpale · 02/10/2019 14:15

I signed up to get tret @emsyj37 but I've actually been prescribed Adapalene and Niacinamide, the Adapalene is apparently the same active ingredient as Differin but with retinol, so might suit you too? I have mild acne and am looking to stave off the first signs of wrinkles before they become embedded.

emsyj37 · 02/10/2019 14:48

Differin is just a brand name for adapalene - it's good stuff, I've used it for years and it doesn't cause any irritation etc which is great, I just wondered if a change might give me a boost. Interesting that you've been given adapalene as an alternative, wonder what they will suggest for me. I've used The Ordinary Niacinamide but it irritated my skin and triggered peri oral dermatitis for me Sad.

Leftielefterson · 02/10/2019 14:55

Caroline Hirons put together a really good blog series on retinols. Definitely worth taking a look as the efficacy of some of the retinols isn’t as high as advertised.

whitershadeofpale · 02/10/2019 15:52

That's good. I'm only in my early 30s so they probably think I don't need anything hardcore yet. I've used gentle retinols for a year or 2 with no problems, I don't really have breakouts anymore but my skin is quite congested and uneven (the pictures you have to take are horrific).

ethelfleda · 02/10/2019 20:52

I’ve just signed up too Smile
