How and when can I wear one of these? I am tempted by the comfort of it but can a professional woman in her 30s use one of these for work? Or strictly weekend? I’m thinking tan leather...

I recently got one and I'm in my 40s. I was going to use it for work but I found it too fiddly to have easy access to my phone/tickets/purse when hurrying for the train etc. Bit disappointed even though it's lovely.

I now use it on weekends as I don't find I'm in and out of my bag so much, if that makes sense!

Makes perfect sense!

I use a backpack 95% of the time. Mainly because I use a walking stick and it unbalanced me. The only time i use another type is if I'm out in the evening and I'll use a small cross body bag. You can get some really nice ones now that wouldn't look out of place in a professional setting.

I also found mine gave thieves much more play time when it was on my back in crowds. (I’m short.) You can’t feel a thing.

I have seen some nice leather Osprey ones.

Yes would have to be careful on trains etc as someone could get in the back 🤔

I'm in my 40s and a smart backpack is absolutely fine for work (non-corporate environment though).

A small, secure cross-body bag for purse/phone/keys plus backpack for everything else should work if you're worried about thieves on the commute? Not perfect I know, otherwise just skip the bag off your back on the train/bus.

Radley have started their sale...

I don’t mind a cross body bag but they are uncomfortable if heavy. I can’t limit myself to a “small” one 😬
