What to wear - Venice in November

I'm thinking quite casual in the day - jeans and Chelsea boots but what do I wear in the evening? I was thinking dresses with thick black tights and boots and would usually wear a long wool coat but will struggle with packing. Any ideas gratefully received! It'll be cold and probably wet.

Waders.

Seriously, just wear what you'd wear on a night out at home.

Wellington boots. Apart from that, anything comfortable - you'll probably be walking a lot more than usual.

Avoid heels!

To note, I went in January. It was gorgeous and sunny during the day but freezing at night. Rained once (overnight) which flooded St Mark’s. So good shoes and layers are a must.
Really, few bother with “glamorous”.

If you haven’t already got everything booked, I highly recommend arriving by private boat (worth the money), and also doing the Secret Itineraries tour at Doge’s Palace.

Unless you're planning to go to a masked ball, most places are actually pretty laid back. I was there recently and went out every night in jeans to nice roof terrace bars and thing and no one batted an eyelid.

Comfy shoes, definitely.
