Mary Jane shoes

I'm 54 and I know I can wear whatever I like etc etc BUT I have been lovely comfortable Mary Janes all summer and I'm wondering if I can get away with wearing with socks?
I'm disabled so I really don't want people staring at my feet Grin
All opinions welcome, however blunt!

Unless you're quite edgy looking, I'd say socks and Mary-Jane are a bad look. What about opaque tights?

I wear my Clarks Trigenics Mary Janes with short black ankle socks but that's for comfort at work with trousers & my uniform tunic for 8 hr shifts. Most HCPs seem to wear socks with shoes or trainers.

But I wouldn't recommend wearing MJs with socks in 'civvies.
As a pp suggested maybe with opaque black tights with skirts / dresses or even opaque black pop socks under trousers.

My mum has to wear flat comfortable footwear as she has a swollen foot & bad arthritic bones in it. She would recommend boots by Hotter for winter - the ones she gets look nice with everything & even I would consider wearing them.
Hotter boots do wide fit & also you can put orthotic insoles in them.
She wears her black Hotter boots to work in an office with skirts.

If you are thinking about casual wear & can't wear boots have you tried trainers? You could try Primark's Sports footies in your trainers.
Some trainers are better than others if you have any mobility problems.
For example my mum finds my Adidas Superstars are good for her feet as they hold the foot firmly in place.

I like the look of Hotter's new brogues which would be worn with socks. Unfortunately I ordered them and they came up small so I'm waiting for the next size up to find out how comfy they are.
