I agree that the Duchess of Cornwall's is very beautiful. That post doesn't include non-British royals but I agree with whoever it is on here who expressed their dislike of Marie's ring - poor woman, it's really an abomination.

Ninkaninus · 04/10/2019 16:39

Heh that was me! I always picture Marie sitting there shaken to her very core and momentarily re-thinking the merits of the whole thing!

derxa · 04/10/2019 16:43

Apparently HM's most senior lady in waiting is the Dowager Duchess of Grafton but, given she's nearly 100, I'm not sure how much waiting she actually does. Grin

AppleKatie · 04/10/2019 17:17

Shock my engagement ring is almost identical to one of those pictured!

😵bet mine was cheaper!

Disfordarkchocolate · 04/10/2019 17:22

I think all of the rings are lovely in their own way but some are just so big! I think Zara's is the only one I could wear without giving myself a black eye.

JaimeBronde · 04/10/2019 17:22

My favourites are Beatrice's & Wallis's rings. I love emeralds & I like Art Deco & Edwardian/Late Victorian styles.

AngelaScandal · 04/10/2019 17:49

Watching evening magazine show whilst I wait for GP. Paul Costello has declared if he sees MM in another of those belted trench dresses he’ll lose his mind. I immediately thought of you lot.

LimahlsHair · 04/10/2019 17:51

Can someone post a pic of Marie's ring?

I'm surprise that some of the rings (the Queen's included) are silver in colour, worn with a gold wedding ring.

Marie's ring is an abomination!

I love Eugenie's. So pretty and usual.

drowningincustard · 04/10/2019 18:07

My favourite is Wallis Simpsons - love an emerald!!!

iknowimcoming · 04/10/2019 18:08

I think I like Meghan's best - ooh just seen Harry's going after the fail and the sun for phone hacking! That poor family Sad

LimahlsHair · 04/10/2019 18:09

Oh wow "mother".

My BBC New app has just flashed up to say Prince Harry is launching legal action against 2 tabloids in relation to phone hacking.

Hairydilemma · 04/10/2019 18:13

If they really have been hacking phones they are going to be in so much trouble given Leveson and all the previous phone hacking stuff.

Wow, I don't think even the staunchest critics of the Sussexes could blame them for going after the Sun and Mirror if phone hacking was involved.

I think I like Beatrice's ring the best out of those though I wouldn't have thought it cost the estimated £250k. Eugenie's is really pretty too.

For those interested in the Cambridge's staff, following the LiW discussion: link

Good for Harry and Meghan, taking as much legal action as they can to right the dreadful wrongs wreaked on them by the tabloid press. It's not just them it affects; that kind of behaviour trickles through to everyday life. If those with money don't take a stand, everyone is the poorer for it.

RoseQuartzGlow · 04/10/2019 18:32

I like Autumn Phillips and Camilla’s best

StCharlotte · 04/10/2019 18:41

I've always felt sorry for Kate. Hideous dated ring and with such an unhappy history. Why did Will at least not get it reset and updated to something more classic (if that makes sense)? I bet she's envious of those diamond rings which are all stunning (I have a sapphire/diamond ring myself so I'm certainly not against that combination). Still, could be worse, could be Marie's - which looks like it's been got at by moths.

BertrandRussell · 04/10/2019 18:44

Yes- I think giving Kate his mother’s ring was such a cack handed thing to do. Unless they talked about it and she wanted it?

Disfordarkchocolate · 04/10/2019 18:47

I agree StCharlotte, it's an ugly dull ring and it always was. To William and Harry, it must mean something very different, they can't look at it and think 'failed marriage, virgin sacrifice '. I love my MIL and she's had a happy marriage but I wouldn't have wanted her ring.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 04/10/2019 18:49

I don’t think she wears it all the time. It must be heavy to wear constantly. It is quite an ugly ring, but I suppose a very famous ring.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/10/2019 19:00

To me that ring symbolises a disastrous marriage but I guess there must've been some good times too and maybe that's what William wanted to remember. I'm sure he has some happy memories of his parents as a couple and holds on to those rather than remember the wurst moments.
