Help with style!

Hi I'm a mid 30s, size 18 mum who has no idea what clothes/style looks good on me!
I've finally got to a point where I can afford clothes but I hate shopping as it all looks awful. I ordered some dresses from next and they look dreadful.
I just don't know what looks good. DH is nice and tells me everything but I look in the mirror and I'm horrified. I don't really have friends who can help or I can go shopping with so I'm feeling a bit lost!
I need to update my work clothes (can't say wardrobe as I only have a couple of things I wear!) I'm office based so need to be smart ish.
How do I figure out what I should wear? I'm feeling a little desperate now!

What do you feel most comfortable wearing? Skirts? Jean's? Dresses?

It sounds like your office doesn't expect suits, so I'm thinking an upgrade of your favourite styles if you see what I mean.

We need info on body shape and height rather than size if we are to be really helpful....

Go somewhere and try on lots of different styles.
I went to tk Maxx and tried on an armful of things I would not usually try and discovered different shapes and styles that actually suited me.
Im a 14-16

What about booking a personal shopper at John Lewis or Debenhams? I've never done it but seen it recommended on here a lot and might help?
