Mahabi outdoor, slip ons, or something different?

Hi, I’m struggling with arthritis at the moment, and I’m having hip replacement surgery in the next few weeks. I already struggle to tie laces, but it will be more so after surgery- I can’t afford a dislocation!

I’m not completely over the hill- I’m on the young side for this surgery, and I’m looking for shoes that I can wear comfortably, without socks, whilst I’m recovering. They need to have soft backs (bursar on one heel) and non- slip soles. But... I don’t want to look like I’m wearing shoes for someone who has just had surgery and can’t tie laces... and who has a dodgy heel on the other foot.

Mahabi do an outdoor version of their slipper, which is lined with wool. Allbirds (wool), I wear in the lace up version and I love how comfortable and soft they are.

I’m wondering which would be most comfortable/make me look least like my grandma. All other suggestions welcome too!

The word Allbirds is missing from my title- it comes before slip-ons.

I saw fur lined Birkenstocks and I was seriously tempted. They also do a close toe version which might be a little more practical.

Thanks! They must have backs in though, and these were all I could find...
