Grey hair - go blonde?

I'm getting loads of greys and having to have my roots done once a month. I've got medium brunette straight hair, white skin and brown eyes. Would the greys blend in better if I got lots of highlights or went blonde?

Any pics?

Anyone? How do you cover your grey?

I've done that, and I was dark brown. Did it gradually over 6 months. Now pretty blonde, greys dont disappear, but they are far less obvious!

Do you have highlights or an all over colour?

Lots and lots of highlights, built up over the months. I'm now at peak blondness, unless I went for full cover which I don't as that would look odd on me. It's made my brown eyes pop in a way being a brunette never did.
I've been quite tanned over the summer. I will need to see how I go over winter and as my summer tan fades.

Blonde all the way - olive skin and brown eyes here

Following with interest. I have white skin and brown eyes. Hair has been dyed professionally medium brunette/ light chestnut shades for years.

Now finding that even straight after dying I need to use root spray as the parting shows up white. I initially thought this was the dye not taking at the roots (same effect if I lift up hair at the sides).

I have now realised to my horror that it is simply that my hair is thinning.

I really don’t want to go grey, so thinking maybe caramel blonde highlights by the bucketload is the way to go.

Sandra - did your hair colour change mean you had to change your clothing colours too?

I have toffee highlights in my mid brown hair.
I've let the greys blend through and I'm pleased with the result. I feel it's a compromise between the initial salt and pepper (that would not suit me) and slapping tonnes of dark dye on for one weeks worth of coverage. I only need to highlight every other month.

I really like grey hair I think it looks great especially when it's styled
And worn with confidence

SandraOhshair · 30/09/2019 22:24

I like grey too Jesse70, but on me I just looked old(er)!

At mid 40s I'm not ready to embrace the grey, maybe in another 20 years...

boxfox I'm now able to wear far more colours than before. E.g. I could never wear pastels before, but can now carry them off as well as my usual cool colours. I can even wear black too, and not look like a marker pen 🤣

I’m still getting mine dyed, brown at the roots with a sort of caramel blonde ombré effect towards the ends.

I’ve been thinking that, when the roots start being too much to keep up with, I’m going to go for a much cooler brown all over with ashy highlights and then start to let the grey come in.
