Which colour would you go for? Bearing in mind it’s for a summer destination wedding

Blue.

TildaTurnip · 28/09/2019 22:19

Blue

Bobthefishermanswife · 28/09/2019 22:20

How many bridesmaids and what colour hair do they have? That could have an effect on what colour you go for.
I'd be tempted to have both colours if you have an even amount.

Spied · 28/09/2019 22:22

The blue.

MonnaLisa · 28/09/2019 22:25

Blue too

Mumtobe193 · 28/09/2019 22:27

I have 3 bridesmaids, one blonde and 2 brunette. The beauty of wed2b is that you can get 5 different styles of dress in the exact same colour and fabric, my bridesmaids are all very different shapes and sizes so I’ve been happy for them to choose the style of dress they are most comfortable in and they have each chosen a different style of dress to wear. So I would definitely like them to wear the same colour so they aren’t complete my mismatched.

I like the blue better, the pink/beige colour is nice but might wash some people out completely - I tried on a dress in a similar colour recently and looked ill Blush

Mumtobe193 · 28/09/2019 22:34

@catenthusiast
I know what you mean about the blush pink colour, it has the exact same effect on me. However one of my bridesmaids tried on the blush and it was actually very flattering on her but then again she is very olive skinned, might not be as flattering on my other two slightly fairer girls.

Blue since it's a destination wedding. I think that colour would look better in the light of a hot country.

whateverhappenstheremore · 28/09/2019 22:37

The blue definitely - I don't like the colour of the pink

Wizzbangpop · 28/09/2019 22:44

In my dream wedding the bridesmaids are wearing blue. On that basis the blue

BrunoLovesMe · 29/09/2019 09:55

Blue

RainWoman19 · 29/09/2019 10:01

Blue, its lovely. I think the pink colour can make some people look washed out.

ShirleyPhallus · 29/09/2019 10:02

The pink would make me look like an undercooked sausage and I suspect with a lot of english women’s colouring it would do the same

Blue much nicer

EmAreSea · 29/09/2019 10:04

Blue without a doubt. Suits all skin tones, and dusky pink has been done to death...

stanski · 29/09/2019 10:12

Definitely blue. I had mine pick their own style in same colour and worked really well. The pink just doesn't suit many people, despite being a lovely colour

Phuquocdreams · 29/09/2019 10:18

As a serial bridesmaid I wouldn’t like either, but that’s because I don’t like pastels and they don’t suit me. But I would suck up whatever you chose! Really it depends on your bridesmaid’s colouring - and your preferences obviously. Blue looks less likely to wash out.

thespellhasbeenbroken123 · 29/09/2019 10:24

That blue is STUNNING
And I love it when the dresses are all in the same colour but slightly different
If I ever got married I would do that

Deffo the blue

womaninjapan · 29/09/2019 10:41

Blue.
Great to see the different styles.

Trills · 29/09/2019 10:52

Definitely the blue. It won't be ideal for everyone but hopefully won't be awful on anyone, whereas that pink has the possibility of being horrendous.

Glad to hear you're going for "same colour different shapes", I think it looks so much nicer when people are wearing something that suits their shape and personality rather than looking uncomfortable because they have to match.

(and yes personality is definitely a factor - I've seen a set of 5 bridesmaids where two sisters with the exact same body shape picked different dresses and it really fitted who they were and how they like to present themselves)

emilybrontescorsett · 29/09/2019 11:25

I think blue on the basis that the pink is hard to pull off for most people.

Eleanorsummer · 29/09/2019 12:18

Blue for sure.

DippyAvocado · 29/09/2019 12:25

Are those dresses from wed2be? I tried on the pink and it was the most unflattering shade. Made all of us look totally washed out. I would say definitely the blue as it should work with different colourings/skin tone.

Doobigetta · 29/09/2019 13:21

I’m going to disagree with everyone else about the colour- the pink would suit me but the blue would wash me out. But actually I think the two would work well together, so I’d let each bridesmaid pick the one they prefer, and not worry if you end up with two in one colour and one in the other.

Soola · 29/09/2019 13:38

The pink is only suitable if none of them are fat.

The blue is lovely and I would go for that especially for a lovely sunny day.

Nearly 30 years ago I was a bridesmaid for a dear friend and we all had to wear the same. Sadly I was taller than the others and had long straight jet black hair, small boobs and the other bridesmaids were all short, blonde and big boobed.

We were dressed in frilly shepherdess style dresses in sugar/candy pink.

The make up artist wanted us all in the same make up which included sugar pink lipstick which looked lovely on the other girls but looked a fright on me so I was allowed to wear my own shade of pink lipstick!

In the photos I looked like Morticia surrounded by beautiful Barbies!
