Which tights with black leather skirt?

I wore fairly thin black tights with mine and was horrified when I saw a photo of myself - I looked a bit prostitutey.

Do I need to go full-on opaque?

I think opaque def, but then I don’t like thin black tights anyway!

What denier do you wear? I often wear 40 (autograph velvet touch) and they look fine. My dark tights are 60 and are pretty opaque but I am not a fan of 100 denier.

60 denier or fine knit tights (like very fine cable knit wool mixed with something) plenty available H&M, accessorise, next or that website which was mentioned here I think called Tights Please (can’t find the bookmark sorry)

Just bought a faux leather mini which I plan to wear with 60 denier black tights and ankle boots. I'm more confused about which shows and jackets to wear with it though. My normal leather jacket obviously won't work. Ankle boots will be okay but I'd like to find some trainers that work with tights.

I’d also like trainers to wear with tights, I have worn my black Superga but they are a bit shabby now.

Yes, I'd quite like to wear trainers with it too but don't know which sort - I'll probably end up looking like a bag lady.

I wear 80 or 100 denier black opaques, occasionally gray marl ribbed ones. Jacket-wise an over-sized denim jacket (although a bit too cold now), a calf-length dark blue wool cocoon type style coat, or one of several faux fur coats. Shoes usually trainers, flat Chelsea boots, and am currently breaking in some DM church boots.

I think the trick for me is to wear the skirt with more “basic” things - a plain grey crew neck jumper, a black polo neck - so it’s not too fancy looking. I am not a dressy-uppy type person, though!

Yes I'm with you on the "basic" things. I do actually like dressing up but again, if I dress up a leather skirt, I always manage to make it look slutty which isn't really the look I'm going for...
Good suggestion re the trainers.

I'm thinking trainers, a turtle neck and a camo or khaki jacket will work for daytime, until it gets really cold. For the pub, maybe a turtle neck and ankle boots.

I’m working on wearing a wider range of my clothes ( shopping my closet as they say in the US) and I have a pleather pencil skirt that I’m going to firstly try to wear for work ( with a long line fine knit over the top) but also dress down for daytime. ( going to try a chunkier sweater over the top). I did see an advert for Paul Smith in a magazine where a model was wearing a knee length skirt over leggings and flat shoes and I thought it might help with the tights / trainers conundrum. Sorry I only have a crappy snap of it. I know she’s 11 feet tall but I think it would make your skirt sporty not slutty. ( I’m blonde with big boobs and I go very easily into looking “ friendly” if I’m not careful). I hope no ones offended by the use of the word slutty.
