Dyeing boots - Experience

I’ve bought some black non-leather over the knee flat TopShop boots on EBay for £3 but I’m considering dyeing them black to darken them further with one of the those all in one dyes you pop in the washing machine. Has anyone ever dyed shoes? Any tips?

Are they fabric? Not all fabrics will take dye, check on the instructions. I’ve dyed suede shoes very successfully with dye that is painted on.

I think they’re faux suede and I couldn’t locate a tag in them.

I would use suede dye then, I got mine on Amazon, it’s easy to use. I don’t think the wash in dye will take well.
