What should I put on my feet?

Stylistic people who know these things, please help!

I am a size 9/10 shoe. 43 if the style is 'kind' but probably really a 44. Luckily I am also 5ft10 and plump so mostly don't look like a clown.

I need some comfy, flat casual shoes for autumn please and don't know where to start.

I have plenty of work shoes (pumps, boots etc) but they are no good to pull on with a pair or jeans or leggings.

I have a comfy pair of well worn in DMs that are great when it's wet, I have some gorgeous looking converse but they just don't quite fit right and one of them squeaks Blush.

I think I might want trainers but which ones? Or sketchers? I just don't know what is trendy anymore (and realise I have turned into my mother...)

Thank you in advance if you have made any sense of my ramblings and can suggest something Smile

Sounds like you could do with some decent trainers (I like Adidas, Superstars or Stan Smith's though they're not officially "cool" any more and more of a staple). A pair of loafers perhaps? I'm sure you already know Next do most of their shoes in a 43.
Chelsea boots are good for casual as well, I have an M&S pair in a wide fit 42 but that might not be quite big enough from what you say... how are Clarks's 9s for you? Their Taylor Shine boots look nice, in brown or black. And Next again have some nice-looking styles.

Thank you @Zinnia I think it is trainers I want/need but don't know where to start. I'm not too worried about looking cool (because I won't), just not looking like a complete dick! I'll look at the Adidas ones you mentioned and see what I can find - I guess they're unisex which is always a help!

I don't really want Chelsea boots as these are what I have for work plus my DMs. It's much more a casual shoe I want (I think)

Would these be too much?

Allbirds

You’ll have to buy gents but they look the same. (I do too at 41)

Nike Airforce 1s or Airmax are my favourites

BikeRunSki · 26/09/2019 15:14

Those silver Adidas are awesome @PhannyMcNee. 👋 shoe comrade, I’m a 43.

PhannyMcNee · 27/09/2019 21:40

So I've ordered the silver ones I linked to Grin but I do like the look of those Allbirds, maybe next year! And I remembered that I always wore nikes in my youth...

I’ve just bought Adidas Courtset. Sort of similar to gazelles but not as ubiquitous; which I’m hoping will mean I won’t look like I missed the memo when they stop being cool.

Purchased primarily because they were marked down (seemingly by mistake as they seem to be full price again online), they fit and baby started screaming so it was that or having to face another shopping trip wearing my knackered old pumas.

PhannyMcNee · 02/11/2019 19:08

Just to update, they arrived, are very comfy - they’ve just carried me round London for 2 days - and I love them even though my DC tell me they look like something my mil would wear... Shock

What should I put on my feet?
