It’s ok , but not impressive. I don’t think it works as a parka or a Barbour. It’s expensive as well.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 25/09/2019 14:28

I like it. Its very similar to my Superdry coat though which was less than a fifth of the price.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 25/09/2019 14:33

Dull, dull, dull. Sorry.

DontCallMeShitley · 25/09/2019 14:45

It's OK, but Barbour waxed jackets need re-waxing or they leak. I mention this because cold rainwater running down the back of your neck is not pleasant.

I must admit I’ve always been a fan of waxed Barbour jackets. I do like the one you have linked but not a fan of the fur trim personally. So long as you look after them they will last a very long time. They are expensive but if you are looking for a jacket to wear every winter for the next 10/15 years then it’s worth it. As mentioned in other post you do have to relax them after a while. You are not supposed to machine wash them but I have done with mine and re-waxed afterwards.

MustardScreams · 25/09/2019 15:06

I would always go with the standard wax jacket. Not up to date fashion-wise, but they last and last. I’ve had mine for 10 & 15 years and wear them constantly in winter and they still look excellent.

Fur trim just looks blah. You might as well buy a cheap waterproof with a fur trim.

Drab and Mumsy.

pinkcardi · 25/09/2019 16:07

It's ok, I don't mind it but it's neither parka or proper Barbour.

I have this and it feels a little more on trend, I get lots of compliments when I wear it and it's v comfortable and waterproof

It's a little short, barely more than cuff length.
You need a coat at least fingertip length to keep your bum warm

EmmiJay · 25/09/2019 16:26

Ooo I think you've just found my new winter coat for me Grin I need to retire my Mountain Warehouse coat now (now those are worth every penny and look so good on!)

Wildthyme · 25/09/2019 16:30

I like it. Wonder if it's in the factory shop. It's one of the best things about living in the North East Grin

I got a navy waxed jacket for £24 last year.

billy1966 · 25/09/2019 18:04

I love my Barbour jacket and hat. 20 years of use. Don't like that coat, particularly the fur. Pinkcardi's is much smarter.

Ellapaella · 25/09/2019 18:33

I really like it. Looks like a great winter coat.

Sexnotgender · 25/09/2019 18:36

I actually have that jacket. First thing I did was take the fur off!

It’s warm and super comfortable.

I wouldn’t pay full price for it though. I bought it for £90 in the sale about a year ago.

cheesenpickles · 25/09/2019 18:36

I own this exact jacket and I bloody love it. I'm not a major countryside person but head out a lot to it because of my job but it's akin to a simple leather jacket. Yeah a bit boring but looks good with everything, does what's its meant to and is super snuggly. It's really well made as well and I can see me getting 10+ years out of it.

cheesenpickles · 25/09/2019 18:37

Also the fur bit is detachable.

Span1elsRock · 25/09/2019 18:39

I like it, OP. Won't date and will probs last forever.
