Help! Need fab dress for my 50th!

I've lost 3 stone but have about another 20 lbs to go, so need something flattering.
Budget about €250.
Knee length (not a mini) and sleeves to at least elbow length.
Party is November, so not too summery.
I like solid bright/deep colours - or if patterned, a bright/deep colour in the background.
I'm 5 foot 3, and currently about size 14.
I haven't started to try on in the shops yet as I haven't a clue what I want - having been overweight for 20 years, I'm trying to wean myself off buying the first thing that fits (as I did that for so long)!
I like Carraig Donn - have had a couple of dresses from there for weddings recently.
Please hit me with your ideas! I'm throwing a party - room above a pub, food and DJ, so will be dancing and running around talking to people, so it needs to be comfortable.

What is your body shape?

Body shape is curvy - about a C cup, plenty of bum and hips.
I've a slim waist and ribcage (sounds odd but it means I really suit a dress which is tight under the bust!)
Bit of a mum tum.
I got into a size 14 dress recently and took a pic which shows my current shape, I'll see can I upload it.
