ASOS standard delivery times

I found some posts about this but they were from a few years ago. I ordered a few things on Asos and chose standard delivery, but on the confirmation email it gave the estimated delivery date as next Thursday.

I go on holiday next Thursday so that's no good - has anyone ordered from them recently, and did they deliver quickly or did it take a week? I'll just cancel the order if delivery is slow, I thought of them as being pretty quick.

It's just a few pairs of tights etc so I didn't want to pay £6 for next day.

I ordered some stuff with them last week Thursday and it is out for delivery today - the standard delivery is pretty long compared to other places I've shopped

I ordered last Thursday and it still hasn't arrived

I ordered some bits from them last month and it took a full 7 days to arrive.

I think its deliberate - the free standard delivery used to be great, a day or two at most, now its a week. I fell into their trap recently (having been sent a similar email with an anticipated delivery after I would have needed it) and bought the 'one year of unlimited next day delivery' and re-ordered.

It really does take a week otherwise. I'm guessing their delivery/free return was looked at on the books, decided it was impacting their profits too much and rather than be honest they've kept the 'free standard delivery' but used far cheaper methods and basically introduced a cost if you want it whilst you can still remember you ordered it - fine for organised people, not so good for the rest of us!

Thanks all, I've cancelled the order. Agree that it's deliberate, I don't know any other large company that takes so long to deliver - I notice they've upped the annual next day delivery charge to £15 too!

I’ve always found that my ASOS deliveries come 1-2 days before it’s due but I’ve just seen you’ve cancelled !

RadioSilence · 26/09/2019 09:47

I have just done an order and it took a full week. I think you were wise to cancel.

Same OP, they always take forever- it really puts me off, for such a large retailer I find it really odd. I don't buy enough from them that I want their next day delivery scheme so I usually just swerve them.

I’m done ordering from them for this reason. I had the next day delivery subscription- but they changed my area to a “remote postcode” so that meant that all the premium delivery subscription gave me was free standard delivery. It’s not even a remote area. So when the subscription ended I didn’t renew.

Then they started putting “We’re really busy so we’ve had to extend our delivery timeframe” messages up. It seems like they are “really busy” all the time though.

If they think this is going to help them reverse their decline I think they are mistaken. It’s going to drive people away in droves.
