Statement bridal earrings - help please

Hello everyone

Been trawling online but everything just seems a bit MEH. My dress is very simple (I posted a pic of it here a few months ago and people thought it looked a bit Audrey Hepburn / Sofia Loren style just to give you an idea) and I think I want to spruce it up with some big earrings as I am wearing my hair in a low bun.

For reference I am wearing a simple pearl bracelet and a small tiara with diamante and pearl incorporated into it. The veil is very plain.

These are some of the earrings I have favourited but don't quite hit the spot:

number 1

number 2

number 3

Hope you can help :)

The first two look a bit Pat Butcher Confused how about these?

How about you have a smaller pair for day and change them for a statement pair at night OP?

These are really pretty and would compliment your dainty tiara and the lovely detailing on the back of your dress :

Love the tiara by the way Smile

These are similar to your number 3 choice if you fancy a bit more sparkle :

Best wishes for a lovely wedding day Flowers

Pat Buthcer is my style icon Grin

BeefStew... Those are exactly the type of earring I am trying to avoid! I just wanted something a bit different and out there. The dress is quite understated for my personality and I feel like I need to crank it up a bit.

I get that the earrings I posted are cheap looking, that's because they are cheap. I was hoping someone would help me find something similar that I would like, that didn't look as... Well... cheap.

HarryRug... Thank you

And thanks for all who have given the tiara a vote of confidence!!

Thanks BeefStew

TuttiFruitty they are both really beautiful. The second pair are more "me"

I think its the veil plus earrings that would look cluttered rather than the tiara. Would you consider doing without the veil? The tiara is beautiful.

awellawellawella · 24/09/2019 14:24

I'd rather ditch the tiara than the veil!! Actually I'd rather ditch the statement earrings too! The veil stays.

Read the title wrong and thought it was "statement of bridal earnings" like some kind of report you had to submit to prove your solvency

Ginfordinner · 24/09/2019 14:27

Having seen the tiara and some of the more delicate earrings on here I think they would look lovely together. I think earrings finish a look. You can't get all dressed up to get married and turn up with holes in your ears (assuming they are pierced). Both the ones TuttiFrutti linked are beautiful.

TwattingDog · 24/09/2019 14:31

Pop in to an Accessorize or Monsoon. I've had some lovely earrings from there.have a trawl of the high street shops, you can get a gauge of the quality more easily that way.

awellawellawella · 24/09/2019 14:34

Good idea TwattingDog

What colour are your bridesmaids or flowers going to be? Maybe throwing some long, understated, but coloured earrings would work - is that too Pat? Grin

justintimberlakesfishwife · 24/09/2019 15:46

For me the tiara and big earrings would be too much. Are you wearing a necklace too? I love earrings number 3 in your original post, OP.

BigFatBloomers · 24/09/2019 15:55

I like a PPs suggestion of have some smaller earrings to wear with the veil and tiara, then you could change into some statement ones when you take the veil (and tiara?) off later.

I like the Glitzy Secrets ones but you have promise not to make the vacant, pouty face.

CmdrCressidaDuck · 24/09/2019 16:37

I think the whole point of that dress is the understated elegance of it tbh, and throwing absolutely everything at your head kind of destroys the point? The dress isn't "plain". It doesn't need anything much else at all.

My personal preference would be to lose the veil, but since you don't want to I would definitely wear small, plain earrings with the veil & tiara. You could switch to more dramatic earrings later if you take the veil and tiara off.

ExpletiveDelighted · 24/09/2019 20:39

Yes, I agree with small earrings with the veil/tiara and then bolder ones for the evening too.

Leglass · 24/09/2019 20:47

Does anything from here take your fancy?

itsallverywell · 24/09/2019 22:06

Bride, you look amazing. Number 3 for earrings

MrsMozartMkII · 24/09/2019 22:12

I like the tiara.

BlueBilledBeatboxingBird · 24/09/2019 22:27

I think you can have any two of a veil with blusher, tiara, or big earrings - but not all three.

You could have the three if you wore a veil which was fixed lower down on the back of your head,
like this.
