Nails to match engagement ring

Right so..I'll not bore anyone with the details but I've stumbled across ^The Ring..

The Ring^ could appear at any time. No big occasions until Christmas - so it could be then - but DP was enquiring over the weekend about when my next nail appointment is..

The Ring is tanzanite. Definitely purple and not blue

What colour nails do I opt for? Help me. Please send all of the help

I like dark nails, I rarely have light ones due to the nature of my job - staining is a nightmare

Navy blue, dark grey, silver glitter, a merlot red?

A deep creamy grey would look lovely

The Thrill of Brazil, or Big Apple - basically strong bright reds. Blues will fight and detract from the blue in the purple.
Coral (not a colour I love) would really make it pop.

The stone looks a very soft purple in your pic. Is that similar to the real life colour?

I think you want something neutral that won't clash or take away from the delicate shade.

A nice navy could look good as well

I think bright red or a pale pastel. Lilac or blush or even a beige.

Sparkly black? Lovely ring and slightly premature congrats!
Tanzanite can vary wildly in colour, so a neutral would be best.
It’s a very soft stone though, so do be careful when wearing it.

Yeah it's not the exact ring but it's definitely that shade..some tanzanite can be blue-ish, mine is definitely undeniably purple 🙂

I'm wild pale with child hands and all the Pinterest nail models have lovely, tanned slender nails

I think you could definitely play it off as you just fancied a change and it just so happened that he popped the question. I say go for it

Go for a classic mid dark red. The pics will then be timeless as it's one of the colours that never dates... otherwise a pink based french manicure.

If you want glittery pink, go for glittery pink!

I love the idea of a darkish dusky pink or a deep/intense pink.

I'd steer clear of blues and purples. You rarely enhance a colour by wearing the same colour next to or near it (same applies to eye make up, you don't enhance blue eyes with blue eyeshadow!).

Oh, forgot to add that I agree with the suggestion of a classic red. That would work beautifully.

I’d go white and let the ring really stand out. You can always change the colour after the photos

A metallic (or lightly glittery) grey? Darker than silver but not quite charcoal? I think that would go quite well with the purple.
