I love Korres facial soap. I use the Pomegranate one for oily skin but I think there's a few to choose from depending on your skin type.

After seeing it mentioned on here I bought this

Traditional Aleppo soap is made from olive oil and bay leaves, sodium hydroxide and water. This soap does not contain chemical additives, preservatives and colouring substances, it's made from natural ingredients, does not contain animal fats or chemicals. Usually only pressed oils are used. It is well known as first purest soap ever made.

The process of making Aleppo soaps is long and require time. The large blocks of soap are made by hand using traditional method, these soaps are cut into blocks and stamped with the mark of manufacturer. After soaps are set out to dry for a period of 6 to 9 months. Aleppo soap is so mild, gentle, moisturizing and natural that it can be used on adults, babies, small children and even pets. After each use your skin will feel refreshed. Laurel oil has antiseptic properties. It's known as stronger disinfectant, it regenerates skin and it has purifying properties which help sooth sensitive skin. Some people might find them helpful with their skin condition like eczema, irritated sensitive skin, acne or rosacea. It's good for skin with allergies because it is 100% natural and does not contain any irritants. It tones, stimulates and brightens skin complexion. It’s recommended for all skin types. Good for family, daily hygiene bath and shower, facial cleanser, washing baby clothes. The soap is very economical, 1 bar of 200g will last for long.

INGREDIENTS: olea europaea, laurus nobilis oil, sodium hydroxide, aqua.

It’s lovely and my skin is all the better for using it. I avoided using soap on my face for over 20 years or more but I am a convert to using this.

Sodium Hydroxide is completely safe after it has been combined with other constituents to create an effective, safe, and diverse cleaning agent known as soap.

I use soap from a company called the little soap company. It’s sold in Tesco and boots if I remember correctly but cheaper in Tesco.

I have sensitive skin and it’s taken me years to realise that one of the main things that causes me to break out/ turn beetroot red is Aloe Vera (which is in pretty much every product labelled ‘for sensitive skin). The soap I mentioned doesn’t have that and is also SLS free (another irritant). I use these soaps for washing my face and also for showering.

We use Oliva from Holland and Barratt (also available from Amazon). DH has sensitive skin and he loves this soap.
The Aleppo one looks good.
The simple one might be OK, not sure about coal tar on your face. I stopped using soap on my face years ago (until the Oliva discovery) when we used such soaps at home.

Friendly Soap (friendlysoap.co.uk) Shea butter or cocoa butter cleansing bar...really good, great value for money and free from plastic, SLS, parabens and cruelty! I use all their soaps ( haven't tried their conditioner or shampoo bars yet though). It's a great company.

thisenglishlife · 24/09/2019 21:07

The Lush facial soaps (not Movis though) or solid cleansing balms - I would recommend Like A Virgin.

Skippety · 24/09/2019 21:09

JM which black soap do you use?

JMAngel1 · 24/09/2019 21:23

Pranaturals African Black Soap from Amazon.

I buy soap from my local health food shop. It would be worth checking if you have a health food place locally.
