What to wear under a lacy top??

I saw a lovely lacy top in Zara today. It’s ivory/cream, kind of cropped with a deep V at the front and back and it was so soft and comfortable.

I didn’t buy it because, well, what do I wear underneath?? Is it acceptable to just wear a bra or does that look super trashy? There seems to be a lot of mesh/lace with underwear showing about just now. I was thinking maybe a bralet...? A vest top would ruin it.

I’d be wearing it out, so maybe to a bar (club if I’m lucky!). I wouldn’t wear it to work or anything like that!

A short vest will do it. I wear these when I’m wearing a dress so that my boobs don’t fall out the top.

Depending on how see-through it is, I second the sugestion of a bra. But a pretty one. Some are too goid to hide. If a bra shows, all it means is that you are wearing one. Avoid greying white or so calked “nude” though. The latter just looks like cardboard!

A beautiful bra but you have to be brave enough to carry it out.
I only wear bras depending on the place I’m going but if I need to be respectful I will put on a camisole

Camisoles tend to give the “double strap” look though. I think providing the bra is a “shadow”, rather than “shouts” at you it’s OK.

It just means you have a bra on. Which most of us do the majority of the time. Just ensure it’s a pretty bra.

You might not need a bra, or you could get away with just nipple covers? (I don’t know what sort of coverage the top has though)

You can buy backless and strapless bras, or even stick on bras but it’s up to whether you want to purchase one just for one night/top
