What highlights do l ask for?

My dark brown hair is highlighted with ( blonde? ) foils.
I would like it more cool toned. What type of foils should l ask for?
My hairdresser mentioned she was going to use more platinum foils this time / to help with brassy - ness. It seems more cool toned . If l just had platinum on brown, would that give a more cool toned hair all over? Or what else could l ask for please?

Tell the hairdresser what you want and they should tailor the foils to your needs. May need a toner after bleaching to get the tone you want

Do they do a toner over the top of your highlights? That’s what they do at my hairdressers to stop my highlights going brassy. I wouldn’t ask for just platinum, highlights in just one shade can risk looking unnatural.

Also do you use a purple/silver shampoo?

I have a fantastic silver shampoo that fixes it quite well... no toner no, maybe l should mention that then!
I suspect the end result is always going to turn brassy as l have such dark brown hair?

I would just show the photo to your hairdresser, they should be able to decide how to proceed from that.

The pic to me looks like ash blonde and light ash brown on top of dark natural(?) base.... I’m not a hairdresser though (just have had a similar style in the past) so hopefully someone who is actually a hairdresser will be able help!!
