Tights under culottes?

I have a pair of cropped culottes that I have loved wearing this summer. I would like to wear them into winter but I don't know if I can wear tights underneath? Is it a bit minging, will people think I am weird wearing tights under trousers?! Boots with them isn't really an option, I am short with quite chunky calves so the added bulk of boots cut across by the trouser would not be a good look for me!

I am thinking tights with brogues but I don't know? Can you get long tights type socks that don't fall down?

I wear patterned tights, fishnet or crochet type. Last year I got a load from ASOS. I also have some knee-high crochet socks, from Whistles.

Yes, definitely. Bare legs in winter just look wrong.

I sometimes wear knee-high pop socks with cropped trousers when it’s colder out. Flesh coloured ones usually. I prefer it actually as I hate the feeling of closed toe shoes with no socks.

I wear Uniqlo's over the knee heattech socks with cropped trousers in the winter because I can't usually be bothered with the hassle of tights.

I have the core temperature of a (cold) fish. I wear tights under all varieties of trousers for over 6 months of the year. Crack on.

Thanks everyone - so it seems tights under trousers are OK! I might experiment with different colours and textures of tights as well.

I do this, and wear a pair of brogues with them.
