Do I really needed All Birds trainers?

I only have one pair of feet! I have Vans, Adidas continental 80s and Adidas sleeks plus Clark's orinoco spice boot, so i think I'm covered.

Can't stop thinking about the All Birds though Confused

Needed = need Hmm

Never heard of All Birds trainers before. Having just googled them, I would say no, they're hideous. They look cheap (sorry) and I would personally never wear an unrecognised brand of trainer (i.e. I would wear Nike, Adidas, Converse etc).

You have some nice trainers in your list there OP and don't need those ones.

amiapropermum · 22/09/2019 12:37

Thank you, Butterfly! I needed that sensible answer

I think they're lovely, and they're far from an unrecognised brand! They're genuinely ridiculously comfortable and use sustainable materials. I bloody love mine (sorry)Grin

amiapropermum · 22/09/2019 12:45

Thanks, Cohle! Grin

Which ones do you have?

I would personally never wear an unrecognised brand of trainer

I was chatting to a friend about this recently as we are in our 40s now and see all these sought after brands that were only being launched when we were about 20, and we remember them being not particularly expensive and the label lovers would have sneered at them for not being 'branded' clothing. Then the fashionistas decided they liked them, suddenly they are sought after, and they are advertised as a sought after brand with a price tag to match, even though its the same product. Its a funny thing, the world of fashion.

Although having said all that, I'd have thought that Allbirds were quite a well known brand anyway.

The women's wool runners. They are the comfiest trainers I own - there's something quite springy about the soles that I enjoy. You can chuck them in the machine too which is handy for dog walking.

Shockers · 22/09/2019 12:56

My wool runners are my favourite footwear of all time!

Shockers · 22/09/2019 12:57

But I don’t care whether I have a brand name splattered all over my feet- as long as they’re comfortable.

fairybeagle · 22/09/2019 12:59

I loooove my All Birds, my favourite, most comfortable shoes. I think they look nice, they're ethically made and you can put them in the wash as PP said.
There is a 30 day trial money back guarantee which I thought I'd do until I put them on 😍😍😊

Also they are a well known brand

amiapropermum · 22/09/2019 13:08

Isabelle, the fashion industry is so interesting, but fickle!

I meant which colour Cohle? Sorry for not being clearer!

I love that they're ethically made and washable

Cohle · 22/09/2019 13:22

Oh sorry, they're dark grey although I'm considering getting a black pair as well.

amiapropermum · 22/09/2019 13:38

I'm looking at the natural grey ones 🤔

I love everything about them, sustainability, comfort, lack of logos and washability. They're not cheap and I don't know how long they'll last so those are potential downsides but they're currently my favourite footwear. And they've just brought out a rainproof pair.....

amiapropermum · 22/09/2019 16:00

Are they the Mizzles, Tons?

OP posts:
gower4 · 22/09/2019 16:33

I'm contemplating mizzles. That said, I have a pair of All birds and I think they look really frumpy. They are amazingly comfortable though. I easily walk 10 miles a day in them.

MayaWhySoDown · 22/09/2019 16:36

I love them, but if I'm totally honest, I think you might have enough trainers (sorry). I'm alap tempted though... I only have a pair of white trainers and one green, plus a pair of sports ones for actual sport. Maybe if I bought them and kept them aside till my others wear out...

Argh! Damn you op Wink.

But I definitely won't. There's little point in me buying shoes with eco credentials when I don't really need them imo. Negates the whole eco friendliness really.

When I am really due a new pair, I will get them though.

MayaWhySoDown · 22/09/2019 16:36

Alap = also

amiapropermum · 22/09/2019 16:40

Maya, yes I probably do have enough Grin You, on the other hand, definitely have scope for more....Wink

gower, I'm eyeing up the Mizzles now. Chunkier sole I think?

OP posts:
MayaWhySoDown · 22/09/2019 16:43

Oh op, you tease you Grin!

I mean... you did say DEFINITELY scope for more? Definitely? I'm also eyeing the grey ones.

amiapropermum · 22/09/2019 16:45

Maya, definitely DEFINITELY! If you look at your list of trainers and mine you can see that yours is definitely lacking Grin

OP posts:
MayaWhySoDown · 22/09/2019 16:46

Now I think I might be silly NOT to buy them!

7salmonswimming · 22/09/2019 16:52

I think the lighter colours look like something out of a BHS catalogue, but the dark colours look good. I love that they’re unbranded and machine washable. They’re also very durable.

amiapropermum · 22/09/2019 16:53

Take my thread as a sign that you should buy them!

I'm now pondering waterproof vs non waterproof Hmm

OP posts:
amiapropermum · 22/09/2019 16:54

7salmon, the BHS catalogue thing made me laugh!
