Eyelash extensions- help!

I had eyelash extensions for the first time today. Was really pleased with them, they looked great. Was a bit surprised when the girl doing them didn't remove my eye makeup before applying (had on liquid eyeliner and mascara) but didn't think much of it. Of course wanted to remove my eyeliner before bed tonight. Used a tiny amount of miscellar water (nothing oil based as per aftercare instructions) on cotton wool and gently wiped just the eyelids, avoiding the lash line. I lost 3 lashes! Is this normal? How can i stop losing more?

She definitely should have taken all eye make up off. There is a 24/48 h rule about getting them wet as the glue isn't properly set. I'd go back and explain and ask her to replace the missing lashes Smile

really weird that she didn't state to attend the appointment with no eye makeup on, or offer to remove. this is probably why the lashes are coming off. I would contact her and ask her to re do them.

You should have gone to the appointment without eye makeup and she would have just wiped over them to remove any oils. Also, don’t use cotton wool pads over your eyes! You wash gently with a mild soap like baby shampoo or something designed specifically for extensions. PP was also correct - do not get them wet for first 24 hours after application.

I’ve had lash extensions on and off for the last eight or so years, and with the right (pretty low maintenance) routine you’re good to go.

Thanks very much all! I'll get in touch with the salon to see if they can replace the missing ones. I'm a bit annoyed but will know for next time to go without make up on.
