Using protector spray on black patent shoes

Hi all,

I’ve had a complete shoe nightmare and I’m really hoping someone can help me out on this.

I treated myself to a pair of gorgeous black patent shoes this week and, when they arrived, sprayed them with Kiwi’s rain and stain protector, as the bottle says they protect shoes of all colours and types.

However, after following the instructions to the letter, the spray has left water-type marks on the shoes and I have no idea how to get them off. Has anyone else done this and/or know how I can shift them?

I’m so annoyed at myself, as I’ve just read on the shoecare section of the brand (Rogue Matilda) that patent leather doesn’t need treating before wearing! I’ll be devastated if I’ve ruined these beautiful shoes :(
