As always, let's critique the clothes and not the wearers.

Sophie buys from Heavenly Necklaces.

ThingsImighthavedone · 24/09/2019 23:05

@TSSDNCOP

That mongoose and cobra quote had me in stitches!!

BertrandRussell · 24/09/2019 23:06

I bought some things from Heavenly Necklaces last Christmas. They were good- but I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting better- probably because I was seduced by the royal connection.

StartupRepair · 24/09/2019 23:42

Yes the necklace I got from HN is beautiful but the links keep snapping.

TheOliphantintheRoom · 25/09/2019 01:36

That mosque visit looked like a barrel of laughs......

Grin

Having watched (with a lot of fast forwarding) the two videos posted, I have a new found admiration for MM! When the chap in the mosque is chatting on and on and on, Harry loses the will to live, whilst MM looks utterly fascinated throughout. And the way she worked the crowd at the tedious looking do hosted by the High Commissioner - never again will I begrudge her a private jet to NYC or a £9,000 frock for a wedding.

beanaseireann · 25/09/2019 01:59

I always thought William should use Rogaine.
He was so lovely with more hair.

mathanxiety · 25/09/2019 05:15

I wear black to weddings. You can get away with lots of rewears if you go with black and switch the accessories and footwear around. It obv does for funerals too.

I absolutely agree, TheOliphant. Her drama training really stands to her.

I liked both dresses today - I am not a huge fan of vertical stripes usually, but I think the dress managed to tick several boxes - a vaguely African print or colour scheme, casual-ish yet clearly a dress for an occasion, and not so bright or stunning (not by a long shot) that she overshadowed the honorees or the invited guests, which iirc is the whole purpose of the trip (i.e. that grassroots campaigners will get the spotlight).

The khaki green was perfectly appropriate for a respectful mosque visit. It was un-showy and modest without going overboard - voluminous fabric, good coverage, nondescript colour but one that suits her very well, neck open a little, sleeves not long, belted. It also had a sense of occasion to it - it was floor length and the fabric had a sheen to it.

thatone · 25/09/2019 06:30

I think she is looking fab on this trip. She seems much more comfortable dressed in a relaxed style and it really suits the nature of the trip.

Rachelover60 · 25/09/2019 08:24

I liked that long khaki-brownish dress, it looked good with the headscarf. Meeghan really is looking good. I think they are going down a storm in Africa.

I hope all the bitching and negative reporting about the couple ceases when they return home. I feel quite proud of them.

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 25/09/2019 08:44

I wear lots of clothes the colour of the mosque dress. It would be nice if people didn’t make ‘statements’ ‘declaring’ it a horrible colour. It might not suit some people but it suits others. I’d never wear pastels but neither would I make declarations that pastels were horrible.

I thought it was a beautiful dress although I wasn’t keen on the mid tie, I understand why it was there.

As for saying she needn’t start everything with a smile. Is she supposed to greet people with a look of thunder on her face 🙁 Every (normal) person says hello with a smile!

Yes, I can see the headlines right now if she didn't smile "Moody Megs Miserable at Mosque"!

A less emphatic smile /less broad would make it easier to transition to a neutral and less tiring on the facial muscles to hold expression .

Pinkarsedfly · 25/09/2019 09:30

Sorry, did a pp just criticise the broadness of MM’s smile and the amount of muscles it uses?

Jesus Christ on a crutch...

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 25/09/2019 09:33

Pinkarsedfly I read it shaking my head. It isn’t worthy of a response.

I can’t imagine the type of life some people must lead that makes them feel the need to even think such things, let alone share them.

Becles · 25/09/2019 09:38

@Pinkarsedfly Yep. Woman with inherited broad black features smiles differently to inlaws with white features. A different tack to comparing why her hair looks and behaves differently.

frugalkitty · 25/09/2019 09:43

Archie video!!!!! Oh he's so lovely, almost enough to make me broody! It's in the Sussex Instagram but I can't get the link to work....

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 25/09/2019 09:49

Oh he is cute. Harry and Meghan are so delighted with him. Meghan’s dress is really pretty.

BertrandRussell · 25/09/2019 09:49

here I hope!

BertrandRussell · 25/09/2019 09:50

I hope Archbishop Tutu is up to meeting them- he’s very frail Sad

frugalkitty · 25/09/2019 09:52

Thanks Bertrand I couldn't get the link or even a screenshot to load on here.

BlingLoving · 25/09/2019 09:55

I'm on the sussex royal insta page and it's not there. Weird.

TipseyTorvey · 25/09/2019 09:55

Oh goodness I am not one to gush about babies but Archie is v cute. I really like her dress this time as well. Flows beautifully.

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 25/09/2019 09:55

Bling It’s in their stories.

BertrandRussell · 25/09/2019 09:58

I’m an atheist- but imagine being able to say you’d been blessed by Archbishop Tutu as a baby.....
