Hair advice please!!

I've never coloured my hair before but I think I would like some highlights, how do I get my hair from the first pic to the second one? What do I ask for when I book an appointment with the hairdresser? Thanks!

My best advice is to show them the picture of what you want tbh. You know they definitely know exactly what you want then.

So do I drop in first and show them the picture or do I book an appointment for highlights and show them that?
