I really fancy a midi skirt for winter but I'm only 5'3 so i don't want to end up looking like a i'm wearing a large sack. Anyone seen any that are suitable for shorter people and not too voluminous? Thanks so much Flowers

I'm 5 foot on the dot and can't find midi skirts BUT if I buy a 'normal person sized' skirt that would hit just under the knee it's midi on my tiny legs Grin

ItsMilkAndEggsBitch I have the same problem...I'm lucky enough that I can sometimes fit into children's clothes if that is an option?

Otherwise OP if you find a flowing one you could take it to a seamstress to be altered for your height. Miss Selfridge also do petite, as well as ASOS.

Not shopped there for years but I'd try Next Petite range. DP and others probably will have a petite range.

I'm 4ft 10 and have bought loads of midi skirts and dresses this year! (I previously had zero in my wardrobe besides old maternity wear so I've had a recent spree) I've got them from Dorothy Perkins petite, next, Primark, h&m and newlook. I quite like a longer length midi as I have rugby player calf muscles though.
If you're still struggling try normal skirts from tall ranges instead.

I am the same height as you and I bought a midi skirt in H and M. I have also bought lots of midi dresses from Zara - you have to go to the shop as some are too long and others are just right.

Thanks for all the tips - my evening is going to be internet browsing!

I'm 5'1 and find Uniqlo make them about the right length for me - but it depends so much on whether you're short waisted etc. I kind of agree that different shops tailor to different body shapes.

I bought a lovely high waisted midi and used wonderweb Blush
