Is it ok to wear one earring?

So I had my ears pierced 20 years ago and both are still open however I've had 6 operations on my neck and face (not face lifts, all medical lol) and developed severe nerve damage so my left ear is completely numb and I've been left with an unbearable tingling burning sensation if its touched, which includes wearing an earring in that lobe.

I'd love to wear earrings but my nerves just can't handle it, would it look stupid if I just wore one in my right lobe? I have so many pretty pairs from before that I really miss wearing but feel like I'll never wear again.

I haven't tried but I can see a lot of celebrity wearing single earrings and I find it cool. Usually, they tuck the other side of their hair where the earring can be found and the loosen up the other side. It's fine and you will definitely look great, I wear two different earring at the same time whenever I feel like it will work with my style.

I'm not sure. I think it might just look like you forgot to put the other one on.

I used to do this all the time. For years I had several piercings in my left ear but wore nothing at all in my right. Rock your own style.

I think an ear creeper style would look cool, go for it!

I did this unintentionally when I gave birth haha. One stud fell out at home and even though I realised, I was in no state to put it back. In all the hospital pics I just turned my head slightly to show the one earring!

You can, of course, but you'll probably have to deal with well meaning people informing you that you've forgotten your other earring. It might look more deliberate if you get a second piercing in your good ear.
