Does anyone else find Zara sizing massive?

The knitwear anyway.
Jumpers/cardigans in size small are blooming huge.
I can't ever find anything.

No! They're extra large is the equivalent of a 14 which is no way, shape or form extra large!

ashleyt · 16/09/2019 16:23

See I'm a size 6/8 and I find the knitwear huge.
The sleeves are just massive

Well, if you’re usually a size 6 perhaps it might be.

But alas, I have the opposite problem.

I do think they dont design for the averagely-limbed human. Trousers are always hilarious- way too long and depressingly skinny-cut.

FatherFintanFay · 16/09/2019 16:26

Oversized is in at the moment, though, especially in Zara. They do an XS size, which is probably equivalent to a size 6. Otherwise, try Mango if you want a shop where the sizes come up small.

Agree with you in regards to knitwear. I would be a size 18 and find the knitwear roomy.

noworklifebalance · 16/09/2019 16:31

Jeans sizes are smaller than equivalents in other ships - had to go up one or two sizes

ashleyt · 16/09/2019 16:37

I find the jeans and tops smaller fit too.
It's just the knitwear that I find huge.
I know oversized is meant to be in fashion but some of them are just un wearable

@FatherFintanFay unfortunately most of the knitwear starts from a S
I don't have a mango local but I love the stuff online.

I find their sizing inconsistent rather than massive.

For example in most shops I'm a comfortable size 12. I need to go up to a 16 to get their denim shorts or jeans on. I own several Zara shirts ranging from small to XL. I ordered a t shirt from there the other day and could barely get a medium over my head.

Miseryisabutterfly · 16/09/2019 17:01

I don’t pay any heed to the tag on Zara items. Their sizing is all over the shop. Best thing to do is enter your information with regards to weight, height, shape and take their advice on what size to go for! Size down from what they’ve said on oversized items. I’m an 8-10 and have been every size from Xs to L based on their calculations!

humanfemale · 16/09/2019 18:28

The tops are normal but the trousers are minuscule! I'm a uk 10 and couldn't get an XL past my hips 😑

Sarcelle · 16/09/2019 18:58

I used to be L or XL in there. I have recently lost 2 stone but I am still a large 12/small 14 but now fit in their XS or S. I bought a top in there today in XS. Tried on a parka style coat - the XS swamped me.

The same is now true of H & M. I am now a size 8 in there. Ridiculous vanity sizing.

MoltonSilver · 16/09/2019 19:21

Nope. They're tiny.
I think the bigger items are supposed to be worn big.
