I detest the fashion for buns right on the top of the head. They look very ugly and make the wearer look like a moomin troll.
Why? Why do people do it?

You mean Little My, not a moomin troll, surely? sorry can't help, I love the topnots. I already have a funny looking face so it doesn't really distract.

I dont get it. Maybe you dont suit them so thats why you detest them? I love a messy bun. Right on top of my head.

I quite like them. Never manage to get mine quite high enough / have time to redo so look more like a wannabe ballerina though 🙈

What are your views on low buns? That’s my go to work-do (office job)

I would assume having a bun on top doesn't drag on the hair it's pinned to in the way a bun on the back of the head does (tried that).

Buns on the back of the head are much more attractive. Or pony tails.

VSCO girl buns are cute...

I like them, if the wearer has hair which is fairly thick or just normal thickness. I look horrendous with a high bun, as my hair is fine and it results in a teeny, tiny, weird looking bun if I go high. Low buns are fine though, as there seems to be more hair available lower down.

A bun on top of my head doesn't get in the way of shoulder stand and backbends in yoga class. I wouldn't want one of those buns that look as large as your head, which seems to be a popular style with people working in the beauty salon next to my work.

Yep, bun on the top of my head for yoga and pilates. I don't want to be getting all caught up in my hair on top of everything else!

I don't think they especially suit me, and I usually go for a low plait the rest of the time, but buns don't offend me.

As in take the front of the hair up into a bun and leave the back down
