Loving camel coats. I'm seeing them about with jeans etc. I have no idea how to actually style one but bought a Debenhams one off eBay for the princely sum of £13 including p&p. It's military so I'm not sure if the style rules apply? How would you wear this and is a decent camel coat? I'm thinking with my slouchy jeans and converse but how else???

Happy to hear if people hate it but am trying to buy more secondhand as a general rule and so options are more limited.

I think it can be worn with most things and yes to the slouchy jeans and converse, fitted top also as the jeans are loose. I think a camel coat is a basic so you can wear with allsorts. Iv just bought a camel coloured trenchcoat from charity shop and il be wearing it with most things.

I really love the look of the long ones but it just isn't me Sad That's why I am a bit bewildered by the shorter styles!

I’d do skinny jeans with boots. Maybe a knee length floaty skirt with knee high boots if the jacket sits on the waist.

I’m searching for a camel coat but the few longer ones I’ve tried on make me look a little too much like Del Boy! Blush

Haha yes! They look fantastic on the fashionistas but on me they just look ridiculous!

I think the Hobbs 3/4 camel jacket would look fab on anyone !

What’s the fabric? (This matters.)

And what is the label? (Doesn’t really matter, just curious.)

To be completely honest the beauty of a classic camel coat is in the flowy fabric and extreme simplicity of cut. To my eye the structure of the one you’ve chosen is too ... structured and looks a bit stiff. It’s a shape that I’d expect to see in navy. (Perhaps it’s softer in real life?)

But it’s certainly a bargain if it suits you and works with your clothes.

Can't afford Hobbs!

As for fabric details, see the attached Smile It's just a Debenhams collection jacket. Machine washable so not going to be high end fabric let's face it! Agree the long simple ones look lovely. I definitely would never feel comfortable in one sadly.
