As it’s getting colder I wore tights to work yesterday and was talking to a colleague who said they’re so old fashioned! I’m 42 and she is early 20s. Am I out of touch folks or these still timeless

Frigging hell I wear tights every single day (black opaques) and I don't consider them old fashioned! I do think the skin tone ones might be considered so but I'm not stopping wearing my black opaques for anyone mate! My legs look well fit in them

How can tights be old fashioned, they're leg coverings

My legs are so white, covered in mosquito bite scars (I react badly to them whenever I go abroad, they bite in the same place about fifty thousand four times and then it scars for months because I pick at the scabs) and honestly I cannot be arsed to remove the hairs as often as I should.

When it's hot I put on crappy fake tan to take the edge off but it has to be over 25 degrees, otherwise the tights remain firmly on.

I refuse to believe - err or accept - that they are old fashioned.

I think of 'nearly black' that are a bit see through as a bit old fashioned and thick black ones as not old fashioned, but I'm no fashionista!

Plenty of 20 year olds wearing black tights and ballet pumps on way in to London this week. I agree that tan or the more see-thru black ones are old fashioned.

I've not worn tights for years now. I like wearing the hold ups stockings, I wear black opaques for work and just position them at the top of my thighs so it looks like I'm wearing tights. They never fall down though so I don't get how some women say they've had them fall down unexpectedly. Some days they will slip a little bit during the day so when I get I get home I make sure they go in the wash.

I position my hold ups around my ankles. Its handy when its warm

I would like to see hold-ups consigned to Room 101. Something that makes your thighs sweaty and ankles puffy has no business being considered alluring.

Tights are the future. Anyone who complains to me that they're "old-fashioned" will get the "Oh good, I only wore them to annoy you" treatment.

No thank you to hold ups. They always feel like they're falling down even when they're not. And I like my tights right up round my tummy. I mean, if I can tuck em into my bra I consider it a good day
