Home dye ombre...

Ok. So I use box dye to keep my greys at bay. Every 6-8 weeks generally. I can't afford to go to the hairdresser to have it done that regularly so I do it at home and I'm v happy with it really.

But I keep seeing all these lovely ladies with ombre bob styles. My hair is an almost shoulder length wavy bob. I sometimes straighten it but generally its wavy/curly (with a good degree of frizz). I have attached some photos of the sort of style I like. My hair is similar but obviously not quite as beautiful 😆.

Anyway, it seems you can buy home box dye ombre kits which are basically a base colour and then another colour which you apply with a brush.

Can I do this with just two regular dye boxes? I have a regular colour I am very attached to Blush. I already have a brush applicator thing too. Can I just sort of roughly apply it at the ends and expect a passable job, or will it look awful? Anyone have any experience?

Also... If it all goes wrong can I just dye over it in my regular colour and fix it?

TLDR : Anyone done ombre hair at home with two box dyes not a special kit?
