Looking for boots like DMs but not DMs!

So, basically a good quality ankle boot, chunky, either Chelsea or lace up style. but a bit smarter/more versatile than a DM. Oh, and brown, tan or burgundy colour-wise!

Any thoughts?

Clarks Orinoco?

mintymellons · 13/09/2019 11:59

Funnily enough my DD (14) has these from last year.

I don't like the heel on them I'm afraid, it would need to be chunkier/flatter. I was looking at Clarks Originals Desert Mali, but they're not 100% right either - maybe a bit too plain and masculine looking.

Asos

fiorentina · 13/09/2019 12:43

Marks and Spencer had some nice ones that sound like you’re describing. Worth a look online..

LongtimeLurker29 · 13/09/2019 12:46

I know you said not DMs but the DM flora Chelsea boot aren't too chunky

newreality1 · 13/09/2019 13:02

Zara. They have lace up ones that are ankle boots but with a zip up the side. Also have plainer chunky Chelsea style ones as well.

evilharpy · 13/09/2019 13:06

Not sure if this is really what you’re after but I got these last year and they’re lovely. I tuck in the stupid front tag and you can’t see it at all.

newreality1 · 13/09/2019 13:07

Sorry just realised you asked for brown, burgundy or tan. I think my suggestions may only come in black. Sorry!

John Fleuvog Derby swirl

Toast ££ but beautiful

Span1elsRock · 13/09/2019 13:14

I've got DM flora boots that I live in, they're smart and uber comfy. I've got the reddy brown colour to wear with jeans and black for wearing with work trousers. www.drmartens.com/uk/en_gb/p/originals-boots-polished-smooth-flora

My other work boots are Ugg Bonham. Mine aren't waterproof though so must be the Bonham II editions. www.ugg.com/uk/bonham-iii-waterproof-chelsea-boot/1110129.html

@Looneytune253 i likw thw look of those but they aren’t leather. I do buy some vegan footwear and it says they’re register with the vegan society.

I wonder how durable they would be at such a cheap price, though?

spiderlight · 13/09/2019 16:07

(Those are black but if you scroll down they have other colours)

Celticdawn5 · 13/09/2019 16:11

Blundstones?
These are very comfortable and virtually indestructible.

Jango · 13/09/2019 16:19

Moshulu?

mintymellons · 13/09/2019 16:29

Thanks all, I’ll have a look at all of your suggestions.

I like Toast, but they don’t have anything boot- wise at the moment. The DM Flora could be an option. Also like those Sarah Raven ones 😀

Moshulu. Bit more dainty than dms. Super comfy.

BikeRunSki · 13/09/2019 17:40

Blundstone

VolcanionSteamArtillery · 13/09/2019 17:46

Have you thought about kickers kick-hi Bit of an odd option i know..

MaudesMum · 13/09/2019 19:39

Timberlands! There are usually some on special offer, so cheaper than DMs, and they're durable and really good for when it gets slippy. I always have one pair on the go for the winter.

MikeUniformMike · 13/09/2019 19:48

DM Flora or Emmeline.
The Cherry Red is nice.

MikeUniformMike · 13/09/2019 19:49

Barbour might be worth a try.
