Jeans / trouser help

My mum is early 60's. She's been wearing bootcut jeans for the last 100 years!

She has incredibly thin legs and feels too conscious to wear skinny jeans or straight legs but the bootlegs are not only god awful but she's rattling around in them.

Any ideas for styles of comfy, stylish troos for a birdlike lady of 5' 3"?

Bootcuts are just about to come back in a major way. If she hasn't changed by now I'd say leave her to it and let her benefit from being ahead of the curve.

Really? Ok. She's just feeling a bit drab!

If she's feeling drab, but does not want skinnies or straights and neither of those shapes is going away), then either try the peg-shape that is currently called mum cut (?) and they are widely available, or choose the shape she likes in different fabrics.

The Damart catalogue has plenty of boot cut in, in various fabrics/colours. I'm sure there will be more if you google.

Or treggings (leggings that look more like trousers than sportswear) - try H&M

Or try Uniqlo - various styles and they all tend to suit skinny people (it's a Japanese brand and the the whole cut is best on shorter, thinner people)

Oh god I hope they do! I loved my bootleg and look like a carrot in skinnies Grin (misses the point of the thread)

I think a mum cut would be good actually
